[KERNEL][5.10.11][2.6.32.21] Kernels from Adrynalyne (Now on Kernel Manager!)

This Rom kicks some major Tbolt booty. I've been off of my charger for 1.5 hrs and I've only dropped 9%! Thanks for all of the hard work!

Ok I flashed the new Kernel and it all went smoothly. The phone is up and running just fine. I'm just having this one problem now. I am getting the "WIFI error" in the settings menu. Did a battery pull. Maybe thinking about repairing permissions or a cache/dalvik wipe?

I upgraded to 1.2 Das Bamf before this and all went very well. Wifi still worked, so i believe this to be kernel update related. Any tips?

Adrynalyne, do you have the link to the stock kernel in case I need to downgrade?

Thanks all!

Stock kernel is available in the "Download ROM" section of ROM manager.

Thanks! Update: Well I flashed back to the stock kernel that came with the BAMF ROM from the Version 1.9 kernel and the wifi was back up and running.

For the sake of testing I installed the 1.8 version, and once again the Wifi was broken! Flashed back to stock, A-OK.

Dont't know if anyone else is having problems with wifi after Kernel upgrade. Adrynalyne, this is info for you so hopefully there is a fix for this! Repeatability wise, the Wifi was broken with the Kernel updates, once back to stock, it was back to normal.

Thanks for your hard work!

I concur. In fact, make it 1.21GHz. That's pronounced Jiga Hertz.

Ok, I did my anecdotal battery test and I have to say that I am impressed with the results.

I started my test at 11:00am at 100 percent charge in a 3G only area. It should be noted that I was indoors in a brick office building which sometimes challenges my reception by bouncing me to 1x from time to time. Wifi and Bluetooth were off and my screen brightness was set to 50 percent. Everything else was left as is, ie Twitter push at 15, Email push...all that stock.

I checked Twitter and Facebook at least a dozen times throughout the day. I followed url's and browsed the web almost every time I did so. I watched a total of about 25 minutes of YouTube videos. Downloaded and installed two apps from the Market. I streamed Pandora for a half hour on the "high" quality setting.

All the while I fielded a few SMS conversations. That being said Id describe it as a light SMS day. About 150 texts total.

Did a couple screen shots with the ShootMe App, and I scanned a barcode.

Finally on my commute home from work I flipped on Bluetooth and streamed a book from the Audible App for 45 minutes. I got home around 7:30 and and after another 5 minute YouTube Vid and another Twitter check I plugged her in at 8Oclock with 5% percent left.

9 Hours on what I would call moderate to heavy usage. Very good if you ask me.

Usually I have access to a charger all day and even in my car on the dock, so this isnt even a real problem for me. But its nice to know that if I was away from power this thing could easily make it through an entire day with reasonable usage.

Adrynalyne, Any tips with the Wifi errors I was experiencing with the 1.8 & 1.9 kernels? I flashed back to the original kernel you modded and Wifi is fine. I'm currently using your Das 1.2 rom.

I hope this is an appropriate venue to voice questions for you. If not please redirect me.

Hey guys, I posted this question in XDA but didn't get much help. I loaded 1.9 yesterday and my battery drained so fast. About 5% every 8 minutes. I know it has to be an error on my part since everyone is raving about the battery saving abilities of this kernel.

I also get a wifi error when using this kernel, rebooting does not help, only reflashing stock kernel fixes it.

If anyone reading could help, I'd appreciate.

I got the Wifi error too when i tried the 1.8 & 1.9 kernel. I'm suspecting it to be a driver error of sorts from my reading the XDA forums and some EVO forums.
I just went back to the stock kernel. Don't worry, its not just you.

In time, there will be some fixes. I'm sure of it!

Update: I updated to the new Das BAMF 1.3 ROM and also the 1.2ghz overclocked kernel that came with the ROM package and the WIFI error did not occur. I have yet to test battery life, but you could always use SetCPU to clock back to stock if you dont like it. Happy!
