Re: [KERNEL][CM7] GingerKernel v02 (OC Enabled!)

I've got something functional that hasn't boot-looped on me yet. Gonna test things over the next 30 minutes or so, will release when done.
So I take it you un-bricked your Optimus? That's great!!! glad to see your up and running again!

Funny you should mention that actually. Yes I got it unbricked, but I took it in to a Sprint shop the other day for an unrelated issue and they bricked it. Got a new one for free :)

Re: [KERNEL][CM7] GingerKernel v02 (OC Enabled!)

I would say v02 does not work, did not read last posts, but I did fresh install of CM7 flashed gapps then flashed this kernal, booted up and got stuck at red LG logo....cant wait for v03 though =]

Re: [KERNEL][CM7] GingerKernel v02 (OC Enabled!)

guess I misread whatever news feed I got that from.
so why did lg release the source without sprint selling any with the new software?
they haven't even released the newer froyo and kernel source for the V, and those are certainly on the open market.
regardless, it's nice to have newer source code to play with.

Re: [KERNEL][CM7] GingerKernel v02 (OC Enabled!)

New kernel is building. A few big changes too. Addition of Smartass2 and InteractiveX governors plus a nice speedy per-uid autogroup patch to boot.

Oh and I was digging through the config menu just now and found that we're using USB Gadget mode (USB tethering stuff SEEMS to be built in, gotta test that), and USB host mode is enabled by default.

Thanks for the news. I hope this goes into IHO as the default kernel eventually. Are you in touch with Blarfie about this?

Awesome I am waiting for this thanks drew... Also saw you were in CO, I'm in Longmont we are practically neighbors 8^)

Eventually yes, it will (hopefully) be merged. But not until (A) we get the LG proprietary Gingerbread files, (B) the random bootloop issue gets fixed (probably dependant on A), and (C) the screen issues get fixed (also probably dependent on A).

ALSO:
The next GingerKernel release will NOT be until I can sync with the CM7 repo and test some things. Which means a new CM7 build from me! No CM7 builds until the main Android repository is brought back online. Sorry, folks.

There are some Optimus One phones shipping with Gingerbread (I think a telecom in Romania has gotten OTA upgrade?). Would the proprietary files from those phones be useful? Most of the software should be compatible...

I can't seem to get it to reboot! Any ideas why?

What do you mean "get it to reboot"?

Does it bootloop or something like that? Because I've been running it since 30 minutes prior to release, and I've rebooted a bunch of times.

Drew make a quick change to the latest realese date In first post.
