Kickstand as pen

I hope the kickstand is easily removable so that there can be aftermarket pens to replace it. The only thing I miss about my Treo is that the stylus could be replaced with a pen stylus, meaning you always have a writing instrument with you. The kickstand is an opportunity to have a pen always with you.

I'm with ya on that. Can't tell you how many times I've used my Treo's Pen/Stylus. However, I doubt that the kickstand will work as a removable pen. It looks rather secure in the videos.

^If so, they should have two kickstands, one of which can be a pen.

I just carry a pin and around, blood makes by far the best ink. It really conveys how serious you are when you actually need to write something down.

Right. One of the hands-on videos, I believe the AC one, showed that it was just a kickstand unlike the Imagio. The Imagio's kickstand does have an antenna but that's because of wireless TV.

HTC does make a capacitive stylus, but this phone doesn't include one and it doesn't have a place to hold one either.

Purportedly, I don't think this has been confirmed yet.

I was watching video demonstrations of the MaXTouch tech, (the chip that's rumored to be in the Evo) and it's capable of some awesome things; unlimited touch points, super fast response, very accurate, low bat consumption, low noise. etc etc

You really need a pen in your phone bad enough to start modifying it? I know it can do everything but it's not a Swiss Army Knife. I'm sure they sell some kind of pen-keychain if you're that forgetful about your writing utensils.

While it's not necessary, it's certainly convenient. I had pen styli for the longest time with my smartphones. You'd get an aftermarket stylus that was also a mini ball point pen. You couldn't write a novel with it, but it would come in handy every now and then.
