I have the main smartswitch screen show up but for whatever reason i am not seeing the folder so that i can actually upload songs etc. HELP PLEASE...

Samsung really need to sort this problem out for the S6 and S7 phones..i wasted practically all my evening trying to work out how to transfer video from my pc to my s7 edge. Smart switch seems to be a waste of time, no matter what i did nothing worked. Finally after searching google i managed to find a solution that does work..i'll copy and paste the article here.

Transfer with Windows Media Player
Step 1. Connect Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge to PC with the USB cable that comes with the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge.
Step 2. Launch Windows Media Player on PC, and on the left side bar of Windows Media Player, you'll find the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge icon.
Step 3. Click on the "Sync" button in top right corner. Drag music, videos, and photos to the "Sync list" area. Here you can drag music, videos, and photos from both the Windows Media Library and your PC folders.
Step 4. When you have dragged all the music, video, and photo files you want to watch on the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, click "Start sync."
Step 5. Move to the left side bar to click "Sync status" under your Galaxy S7/S7 Edge option to check whether the videos, music and photos have been copied and transferred to your Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge.

If that helps anyone i wont feel like my night was wasted lol.

My S6 was backing up fine until the last update, now its just gets stuck on this screen?? Any ideas anyone

do you see anything on the phone? like a dialog box asking for you to press ok or allow or something?

it shows 'USB for file transfer' in notifications bar. If I swipe down and press, it then shows the above screen shot. I have try all the options but with no joy?? It just keeps showing the first screen shot I posted. The problem only started from the last update on my S6. Don't know if I can go back to the previous version but don't really want to do that :-

Thanks, still no joy. I'm gonna drag and drop files from phone to computer once a week instead. I once had a note 3 stolen with all pictures and info on, devastating!!! So its important I make a backup some how. Gonna try reinstalling smart switch aswell fingers crossed

By fluke I have found that my old Sony (Media Go) software works fine with my Samsung note 2. I use it to transfer music and photos back and forth between PC and phone. It also backs up my contacts and text msgs.

If anyone finds a way to work with Kies I would prefer to use it. I just do not undersand why the smartswitch has not been programmed to have that capability also.

For some reason I don't get that little folder symbol next to Internal Memory. I can't see how to access my phone's files.
Any ideas anyone?

Thank you so much for this comment about Sony Media Go. I have now given up on Smart Switch (except for making complete backups of my phone's apps & contents). Sony Media Go seems to work very well with the Galaxy S5 Neo.

However I am not getting those arrows or folder icons.

With Kies I used to have complete control over my phone especially contact lists which I was able to edit with ease.

Photos and videos transferred to the their respective folders in a flash.

It was the best phone manager ever although the later the versions the worse it got. Like everything in the computing world eventually. Best features always go in later versions!

Anyhow I am writing this having spent a whole night and half a day trying to back up my Galaxy S7 edge to my PC where I need to have a copy of just the photos and the contacts . No luck. I tried everything mentioned anywhere I clicked. Some commercial software looks good but not good enough because it's not usually designed specifically for this phone or brand .

I made a back up on my SD card but this only allows to restore the stuff . I need to be able to view, select and edit my backup and contacts.

Any solutions?
