Kik app data takes 6 gig of internal storage?

My S7 internal memory is nearing full, despite having a giant SD card and trying to put most things on it. The kik app is not able to be installed or store data on the SD card.
I don't understand what might take 6 gigs. Sure there are some photos. But 6 gigs is something like 5 full length movies.
I'd rather not uninstall the app and lose any conversation data, letalone subscribed usernames.

Any ideas?

Is your KIK app up to date? Sometimes if apps are out of date for a whilw, they can become poorly optimized and unruly, causing them to 'misbehave and not perform right. This can include taking up excessive storeage space. Make sure that you have KIK updated. Try clearing the cache and see if that helps.

There probably are other people here that know of other options before having to result to it, but you may well have to reinstall the app. The app could have gotten corrupted. But I do suspect it may be out of date as well.

I usually keep this app updated. Plenty of other apps I don't, until I go to open it and am forced to update.

You need to delete the cache and then to under "Chat Settings" turn off "Auto Download Videos"

I assume this might be too late for you but it might help others. I just went through this myself and KIK was taking up 34GB !!! of space.
