Kitkat 4.4 Experience

My YouTube app is extremely slow on my nexus 7 2013 and nexus 4. Anyone else encounter this?

This version of Android definitely uses less RAM. I was using 850-1000MB on JB. Now I'm running less than 600MB. Its ironic that the phone and tablet manufacturers are increasing RAM with every generation of devices and Google is developing the OS to run on 512MB!

No - Google made significant changes affecting Flash use and it's broken in all browsers. One exception is Puffin, which uses server-side Flash as opposed to the on-board apk.

Puffin will work only for videos for US region, videos outside US will not work using puffin.

Three issues noted so far

1. Flash support gone across all browser except puffin (works for us region videos only)
2. Noticed some inconsistencies with respect to programs open in the background, some time it doesn't show all open programs.
3. Android central app - page forward and backword buttons are un responsive or very slow to respond.

My Slimport adapter has been kind of glitchy since the update. Sometimes the display won't come on when I plug it in, and when I unlock the tablet the screen turns back off. Yesterday I was having terrible AV sync issues until I restarted my n7. Never had trouble with it before the 4.4 update.

I'm having issues with Android system keeping the N7 awake when it should be sleeping, running down the battery. Tried WiFi on, WiFi off, WiFi optimization, removing widgets, etc to no avail. Built-in battery is of little help, only indicating that the OS is burning CPU. This is all new with 4.4, battery was superb under 4.3. Need 3rd party battery apps and wakelock detectors working again!

Besides the annoying flash ordeal I've noticed performance is a tad better such as faster multitasking, faster app launxhes , etc but to me Google overhyped it

I bet the difference is more noticeable for those with low-end devices. The biggest change is resource efficiency, so if you have a high end device (i.e. Nexus 7), you're not likely to notice a huge change.

But there really aren't any true low end devices to test googles claim
