Kool-Aid--2.1--new leak!!!

yeah i did that. i ended going to restore an old back up, and THEN wiping everything and flashing JUST the kool aid. no expresso. and it's working now. poop, i wanted expresso lol. it's bad arse looking.

I flash one at a time, first the ROM and reboot and then expresso. Thats how it works for me.

i was gung ho to do it this way... i went through initial set up just fine, but now it's stuck on LOADING on the home screen. I've gotten a text, and a phone call, but other than that, nothing. ARGH.

EDIT: Fixed by hitting the search icon and then the back button. Weird. Ah well!

alright, i cannot -- for the life of me -- remember what key to hold down on the phone when rebooting to get to the boot loader. help please. and flame away.

hmmm, i can't seem to get into the other custom bootloader i had before with the other leaked 2.1 rom. the power button + home key combo takes me to a screen with a skateboarding andy and ask me if i wanna clear user data but doesn't let me do anything on that screen. then when i hit the home key again it boots normally.

also, i can't use "reboot recovery" in the terminal emulator to do it anymore either. and that is after entering "su" to get to superuser permissions.

anyone? i have beezy's kool aid flashed, but i still need to flash the kernel and expresso.

if your phone is powered off and you hold home and hit power and that isnt working try holding volume down while powering on. if you stil cant do it i would guess something happened to your recovery. maybe try pushing it and flashing it again?

also, u can use the "adb reboot recovery" command from the sdk if ur home isnt working, it should reboot right into the recovery without having to do anything.

I prefer to use that method when ever im connected to a puter, as it reboots much quicker than using shutdown.

the user wipe screen comes up on me sometimes too when i use the home key, if u just hit the talk button, and then hold the home key again, it should go right into recovery.

yeah, i ended up just doing that (adb shell commands). i am annoyed now that i can't seem to use terminal emulator on my phone to "reboot recovery". won't even let me "reboot" after installing beezy's rom.

does anyone know if 2.1 actually shows an awake time anymore? i would rather not have to do the math myself.

and i ask this because it appears my phone's awake time has been 100% since switching. i am letting it rest right now to double check.

it doesn't calculate percentage anymore. I've noticed my phone counts being plugged in as awake if I have USB debugging on. Maybe you should try turning that off temporarily and testing to see if thats a possibly non-existant issue.

anyway to turn off sense ui completely and maybe turn it on when you want?

You can never turn off Sense entirely. You can set home as the default home by going into settings--applications--manage applications--HTC Sense and force stopping and clearing defaults and then hitting home. Its should give you the option of home or Sense. If it doesn't, the ROM won't let you do it. Some ROMs do, some don't. Depends on how much they are dependent from the official release. You can then select home as default if you can switch to home, or launcherpro, or whatever home replacement you have.

I've been having a lot of problems with my Hero running the sugarfree pack. My phone lags whenever I get a text message, it takes about twenty seconds for my phone to start ringing when calling someone, and the internet is incredibly slow and laggy. Some web pages wont even load. Is anyone else having similar problems?

thats odd, when u run adb shell, does it find your phone and start the daemon server properly?

try wiping the caches in recovery, that usually helps me when things go screwy.

Also, dont use titanium recovery for system settings, it will hose everything.

Hey Beezy, weren't you planning on putting out a new version soon? Or was that when you lost everything and you haven't gotten back to it yet?

Just curious :)
