Alright. But I've tried saving the rom to the root of my sd and in my nandroid folder, it doesn't show up when it's not in the nandroid folder. should it still be zipped?

I know this has been covered somewhere but ... if I wipe data, I'll have to reinstall my apps, correct? I have backed up with astro, if I reinstall the apk's, will the market still know what I have installed?

Ya I have a similiar question as the guy above. Do you just have to back up the free apps that you still want or all of the apps (even paid ones)?

All market based purchases and what not are stored with your gmail account info i believe so when you re open you market it still shows everything...

my own side tangent this rom is not working well for me... it has froze and rebooted 3 times already for no obvious reason, I guess I will head back to droidmod... flashed the recovery back to 99.2b and loaded my last nandroid backup, seems to back to it's old self

Were you using the launcher2? If so that is the culprit of he freezing and reboots. I think everyone who has loaded this rom has removed (uninstalled) it already (Launcher 2).

yeah I was trying the launcher and also had it freeze up while I had dxtop going, I just like the look and feel of droidmod and smoked glass... also not having the keyboard light was killing me haha.

ok so im going for it in one second. just one last question. sombody said to change the name of his recovery image to koush-recovery. so before i put it in the tools folder and reboot it into recovery from droid root pro, i change the name from "recovery-clockwork-1.4.1-sholes" to "koush-recovery"? just want to make sure i ask that last question

alright i just feel like a complete noob, even though ive been doing this like this for years. i installed droid root pro, the recovery image, and the rom and now i just dont know what to do. i renamed the recovery image to koush-recovery, flashed it through droid root pro and whenever i reboot in recovery mode everything is green, and it says clockworkmod recovery v1.4.1. i try to install zip from sdcard and it doesnt even show the rom. im lost and would appreciate help from start to finish

im using bugless beast 2.1 if that helps any

It doesn't hurt to back them up mine showed all my apps

ok ya i did that. but just was curious about how i name koush's recovery image. do i take the whole file name and just change it to "koush-recovery"?
thanks biz

Yes just change it to that if you plan to use Droid rootpro place it in the tools folder and use the app to flash it

just tried again, now i get to the screen where you select the .zip to install and it says
finding update package...
opening update package...
verifying update package...
installing update...
E:failure at line 2:
assert getprop("ro.product.device") == "sholes"
get prop("ro.build.product") == "sholes"
installation aborted.

Disable assert and disable the other one also
