Lack of BT 4 an issue?

Yes I am serious. If you see the post I quoted, he states that it is OS dependent. So it would follow (logically) that ICS would support it, if a gingerbread phone does.

R U serious? Perhaps that is a tough concept for you (and infernalman7 apparently) to grasp. It is not analogous to camera MPs.

it is analogous to anything that any phone has and the other doesnt!!!!!! why does nexus have NFC and RZR not? why does the iphone have BT4 and others not? why do some phones have USB 2.0 and some 1.1? why do some phones have 3.5" screens and some 4.3"??????????????????????

because manufacturers can put whatever features they want into their phones!! their is no rhyme or reason to it.

moto decided to put a BT 4.0 radio in the RZR. Samsung may or may not have put a 4.0 radio in the nexus!

No guy. I was asking for clarification about specifically why a GB phone would support BT 4 and an ICS phone would not, if, as the post I quoted stated, such support is OS dependent.

If you cannot understand the full dynamic of my question, I suggest you refrain from answering, as your input has contributed nothing.

who said that ICS doesnt support it? if it does support it, it still requires the appropriate hardware. a manufacture may or may not decide to put a BT 4.0 radfio in it!! the GNex may or may not have it.

Re: Lack of BT 4 an issue??

@ edizzle :
According to this post, the chip supports it. The other posts that I have quoted ITT have muddled the issue, and I am just trying to sort it out. I am not posting "ZOMG why is there only 5 MP camera!?" or "wtf pentile screen!?" Clearly you got lost somewhere in this thread, and you should maybe read through the whole thread including the posts i am addressing so maybe you can understand what is going on.

solido, i completely understand what is going on. i will admit i responded to your post singularly and without reference to entire thread. if you read just this; "Maybe I am missing something, but OP says the RAZR supports BT4, so how could the GN not support BT4?" it sounds funny! no one has truly proven if the hardware does or does not support BT4.0. that being said it is funny to ask how one phone could and one not. now throw in earlier posts where it is implied it does have the hardware and you are asking why GB would support BT 4.0 and ICS not, that makes more sense. if you had asked why would GB support BT4.0 and ICS not it would have made much more sense. to ask why would a motorola rzr have it and a samsung gNex not (which is what you asked) is almost a silly question. there is no good reason why manufacturers do what they do.

Read that it's a driver related issue. If Samsung updates the driver of the chip, then the GN will have BT 4.0. According to wiki, the difference between version 3 and 4 is that the low-power BT devices can take advantage of BT4's low power capabilities. Everything else is compatible between the two.
