Lack of interest in P30 Line?

Sheer volume of Samsung users and remember this is a dominantly US based site still where Huawei isn't nearly as popular like it is for the rest of us. It's definitely getting busier with Huawei's rise in popularity. You should have seen the Huawei forums a year or two ago lol

True. Huawei has many users too though, since it's the 2nd largest phone manufacturer now. I would think people from other countries would come to this forum though, seeing as I'm not from the US as well. Maybe some are just not so enthusiastic about their phones Haha.

Hopefully the Huawei forums will get busier, I'm considering Huawei for my next phone. Used a few of my friends mate 20 pro and mate 20 and they are real snappy.

Well the forums may be quiet for now cause I don't think people have gotten the phone yet. But the tech community is all over this phone with comparisons left and right and I gotta say its looking real good for Huawei right now. I should be able to get this in the summer time without the import fees. Can't wait.

But I saw the mate20 and p20 forums they are considerably quiet as well.

Me too! Considering changing my note 9 as it suddenly has a camera issue...

"UK report says Huawei poses ‘long term security risks’ to national security" https://twitter.com/i/events/1111219217997520896

Not directly linked to their phones, but all this suspicion just casts doubt don't you think?
Oh yeah I saw that. From what they were saying the problem was more so that their infrastructure was vulnerable to security threats and risks and not so much them spying but still not good press for them.

Yup, they said the defects were of no link to the Chinese government.

But either way I'm not really bothered by it.. spying goes on with every government, whether we know it or not

They are number 2 because of Chinese, Asia and African markets where English isn't the main language and most of those users wouldn't be hanging out in these forums.

Like the OP6T, no secure biometrics is a big negative on both of these, neither the FPS or Face unlock are close to being secure.

Well, I'm from Asia and English is my first language so.....

But I get where you're coming from. Makes sense I guess! Would love to see more people in Huawei forums though! Even on Huawei's p30 video on YouTube theres only 100k plus views, which is really little.

probably the reason is because this is a us site. in europe everyone is going mental. In my company of 27 people, 8 of them have the p20/mate 20 and a couple more(including me are getting the p30). All of these people previously had either a samsung or an iphone

How are they liking their phones? I'm considering switching over to huawei

they are super excited, they dont stop bragging about the battery and the camera which I guess are the two most inportant factors for the average joe

It's pretty important to me and I use both my personal (G6) and company (iPhone8) phones at work, quite heavily too I might add. I used to use a photo capturing app that would only store photos in the local memory on my G5 and I would have to dump my photos every two weeks because it would fill up so fast.

I'm thinking about buying the smaller P30 in the next 8-10 months. I bought my Pixel 2 about six months after its release and have really loved it... So I think grabbing a "still current, but came out half a year ago or more" flagships is working for me.

I've missed EMUI from my Honor 8. Now the only thing I need to think about is what colour to get...

Somebody that misses EMUI. Wow and everybody bashes that as one of it's biggest downfalls. I think most reviewers are just kinda set in their ways as far as Android software preferring either stock, Oxygen, or Samsung's versions.

EMUI is like other operating systems - you either love it or you hate it. I personally loved it - it was customizable and smooth. I've read other users here that liked it as well - I guess it just depends on who you ask.

And you're right - reviewers are biased (like everyone is); and so I take reviewers and their videos with a grain of salt. When it comes to their opinions and some of their comments about things like OS's, I prefer to wait to see what my own take is before I make a decision one way or the other.
