Lag opening some functions

Coming from the S3, I've had a simple transition to my Note 2 and remain very happy with it (although I'm still getting used to the larger size and weight). I was wondering if anyone else who came from an S3 has noticed a slightly longer lag between opening the dialer, messaging etc. Programs themselves, such as games definitely load faster on the note 2. Not a big deal at all, but I was curious if others noticed it or I need to change any settings. I don't need any kind of fancy transitions if it means a faster phone.

The only lag I am noticing is the lag when I unlock the phone.

Go to Developer Options in Settings and change all 3 animation options to 0.5x scale. Boom. Quick Note.
