Landscape mode on Home scree

Is it possible to have the TB in Landscape view on the homesceen, or when in Desk Clock App? It would be nice to take advantage of the kick stand while its sitting on the desk at work.

Just picked up the TB yesterday, loving it so far.

As far as I know, which I could be wrong, but sadly I had the same problem.

The TB does not allow home screens in the landscape layout, so I then downloaded an app from the market called LauncerPro.

This app allows you to create a new home screen, or screens, and will allow them to switch to a landscape layout. But then HTC widgets will not be available for use with LauncerPro homescreens.

Though I think you may be able to achieve that by downloading yet another app, Beautiful Widgets, which needs to be purchased, I beleive.

Good luck. Can someone else back me up or help with some info? I don't wanna mislead anyone, but I believe that's how it goes from what I know.

Yes, just press the landscape symbol next to the moon symbol. Not very functional, 'though, just a clock with date.

I actually started a thread about this yesterday morning. Saturday evening both my TB, and my gf's would rotate to landscape. The home screens AND the app drawer!!! It was awesome. The widgets worked, even the icons in the on-screen buttons rotated.

Sadly though my phone's battery died saturday night and I have not been able to duplicate it since. I wish I had took pics so I could document it. My goal is to now figure out what happened to make this happen.

Both our phones are still stock, and this happend without the use of any market apps.

It will happen periodically if you use the VZW car mount it happens to mine sometimes when I disconnect it

the car mount from vzw will put the home screen in landscape mode when plugged in.

Only android phones with a physical key pads example the droid 2 or evo shift can have the home screens rotate into landscape normally.

As for the desk clock: If you touch the flip clock then select the night or day mode clock (night clock has less back-light) these will rotate into landscape mode.

I thought I was crazy... in fact I thought it might have been a dream, but my phone did the same thing. For a short period of time on Saturday I was able to rotate my home screen into landspape mode. But now I can't get it to do it.

Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure mine would rotate as well. But after installing a bunch of apps it does not. Didn't one of the prerelease videos also show the rotation on the home screen?

With the Gingerbread Android 2.3 update. you will be able to
have your home screen in landscape

I just noticed my Hubby's is in Landscape mode on the Home screen when I went to plug it in
for the nite! And I went wait a minute, mine doesn't do that, and I want it too!!! If anyone else
figures out how to put it in Landscape on the Home screen, please let me know!!

The traditional solution to put landscape in Sense is to use a rosie.apk from a Desire Z. But I don't know if that kind of mod is working on the Thunderbolt. But it should work in theory because it's more or less a Desire HD when it comes to the software and the difference between the HD and Z is the rotating enabled rosie.apk more or less according to posts at the XDA-Developers.

Rosie.apks that enables landscape (Desire Z-apks) can be found in the HD2 section of that forum.

But as I said: I don't know if rosie.apk from the Desire Z is working on the Thunderbolt. But I know they can work on Desire HD ROMs and that device is very similar to the Thunderbolt - it runs the same Android/Sense combination.

What phone does he have and is it rooted

He has the TBolt!! No, it is not rooted, and it still goes to
Landscape mode on the home screen!! And he doesn't use the
car mount either. It just happened out of the blue and stayed
that way. He is just Lucky I guess!

Edit: Stock Launcher? I am a newbie, not sure what that is, but he is
a newbie too!
