Landscape Mode with New Update?

Supposedly the new update gives us a Desktop Cradle Mode App, which shows homescreen in landscape mode. So I searched the phone and the market and didnt come up with anything. Anyone want to elaborate on how to accomplish this? Thanks.

And only the HTC branded dock will do this. However, it only does a landscape clock mode and that's it.

Just got the update a few hours ago. Everything can be viewed in landscape for me, even the Sense home page.

This is interesting to me - because about a week ago (before the update came out), I noticed that my home screen would now work in landscape mode. I thought it odd I hadn't noticed it before.

Now, it doesn't do it.

I'm also one of those, who has the disappearing checking for software updates screen and has not gotten the update.

Two things - 1) I wonder whether I had something pushed to my phone that I wasn't aware of that was "testing" the landscape mode? Maybe?

2) To others who can't get the update, and are experiencing the disappearing box - did you ever notice last week that your homescreen would go to landscape mode?

Ah well, for now I'll enjoy the continued free MHS.

The rare switch to landscape mode for the full Sense home screen has been noted by a few people from the beginning. Maybe it's a loose/bent pin in the microUSB port or something else triggering some future functionality or some Sense code used in phones with hard keyboards? There are a couple of ways to trick the phone into the landscape car mount screen without using the car mount.

Let us know if this disappears in a day or two and you figure out how to enable it again other than it happening again in a more random manner.

Funny, I always hated the auto roll to landscape when I had a Storm. Even paid for an app, I think NoTilt or something like that allowed me to choose which screens went landscape and which didn't. To each his own I guess.

Actually, I think it is very likely coming with GB for the TB, at least when used in a dock. The new Dinc2 GB OTA update allows it to shift the Sense home screen into landscape mode in the dock.

Correct it will come with gb the PDF for the last ota was full of errors

Even then it likely won't be full landscape support, just for dock mode. The widgets tend to go all wonky in landscape because HTC hasn't designed them for that orientation.

I find it hard to imagine very many scenarios when I would want a landscape home screen except when using a dock or kickstand. Usually, when you want landscape, and you are not in a dock, you are most likely using an app and not a home screen. Let me know what I'm missing.

Some want the home screens, app drawer, everything whenever they turn the device. That just isn't happening. The dock mode is nice though and looks a lot better than the standard clock mode. It was in one of the roms I installed but doesn't seem to work in BAMF RC4

I use the Verizon branded car dock (a.k.a Window and Dash Vehicle Mount), before the latest OTA when I manually exit out of the Vehicle mode (default when the device is in the Vehicle Mount), the homescreen would not rotate into landscape.

After the latest OTA after manually exiting the Vehicle mode,the homescreen stays in the landscape orientation.

Someone asked why we would want landscape view of on-screen. I do everything on my phone in landscape view so it's annoying to have to flip the phone back and forth as I switch apps.
