latest version of whatsapp onto Pixel 1 phone

I have downloaded latest version of whatsapp onto Pixel 1 phone, the "delete for everyone" does not appear when i try to delete a message i have sent to another phone, which also has the latest version of whatsapp, but that phone can delete a message from my phne. My phone system has also been updated. the phone has also been restarted.How can this be fixed? Thanksh
