Comm Rom 1.3. JT's Kernel.

Been having a lot of FC and Reboots lately. I originally flashed back to stock factory (DI01), then OTA'd up to 2.2. Then i wiped data. Wiped cache, davlik, permissions all in that order. Then i flashed Comm. Rom 1.0 and updated to 1.3. Re-installed apps without any backups, just started fresh.

Since then, ive had crappy bat life, but i expected that at first. Especially since i was messing around with voltage settings, but everything i did caused my device to lock up at some point and become unresponsive, or cause a random reboot after 30 mins-8 hours.

So i switched to JT's kernel. Now I get random lag and launcher Pro force closes at least once every day and i get a reboot at least once every day.

What do, cause ive tried two kernels and my device has been rebooting everyday. Ive already tried reflashing 1.3 also

I would:
Bump charge the Battery.
Wipe Data, Cache, Davlik
Re-flash Comm Rom 1.3
Wipe Data, Cache, Davlik
Bump Charge the battery again
Wipe Battery stats
Use it for a couple days fully discharging the battery each time.
Lay off the themes and voltage controls until you are stable and know the heck is going on with the phone.

Clarify bump charge briefly.

With Phone on, Charge to 100%.
Turn Off phone Charge to 100%
Turn On phone charge to 100%

This ensures that the battery IS really fully charged, as opposed to the OS just thinking it is fully charged. I have had the phone charge for an additional 15 minutes to fully charge withe the phone off.
Make sure to use the stock cable pugged into a wall.

I had the same issue. My fix kinda sucks but it's only thing that worked. I went to manage applications and cleared data for the ones I restored. Had to set them all up to my liking again, but it worked

+1. The bump charging isn't going to help your FCs, which is your main issue right now. Try clearing the LP data and cache first and see if that works.

Also, are you using the voltage controls at all? Undervolting could be causing some FCs too.

FYI....Use the "Search this thread" feature in the ComRom thread and you'll see others have had FC issues as well.....might help.

I am not using any voltage controls at all. I switched to JT's kernel after i kept getting FC's with nemesis2all's kernel. so I decided i did not need to worry about voltage controls or undervolting anymore and just went back to what worked flawlessly before i flashed kangbang, which was JT's kernel.

I don't know if it's relevant but I had problems with Launcher Pro after installing the ComRom. If clearing your data doesn't work you might try not using Launcher Pro for a while and see if it makes a difference. I switched to Go Launcher and have been happy with it. For what it's worth, I was happy with Launcher Pro in previous ROMs but just didn't have any luck with it on ComRom 1.3.

I also had tried a voltage control app from the market (don't remember which one) and it caused FCs for me on previous ROMs.

I hope you get it working better soon!

I was having major FC's on LPP after I flashed CommRom 1.3. I flashed the browsers patch and have been good ever since.

This.

For whatever reason, the Epic browser that was included with 1.3 was having issues with LP. Flashing the patch as jjcasillas mentioned should fix the issue

FWIW, I had all the same issues. A complete reinstall with wipes of all cache cleared all my issues. The bump charging is SOP for any new ROM or kernel I flash. I never have a battery life issue.

This did not change my Launcher Pro issue but did solve my problem of getting my bookmarks to show up in alternate browsers. Maybe it will work for you, though. The other day I tried LP again but still had issues. :-\

I was using launcher pro plus for awhile and noticed it was FCing on my every day. I gave up on it and switched to GO Launcher EX. Was going to give ADWLauncher EX a try but I am not sure if I can get the number of screens down to 3 on it.

Just for clarification purposes for everyone, this method described is not bump charging. This method is the proper way to fully charge your battery to make sure it is actually at a full 100% charge before wiping battery stats. Bump charging is charging the phone to 100% while it is on, unplugging the charger, plugging the charger back in, charging to 100%, and continuing this until the phone reads 100% as soon as you plug the charger back in. This is not the proper way to charge your phone to 100% and is actually harmful to the battery. Just FYI for everyone.

Just an asside, the latest update to go launcher causes force close and lockup hell. If I hadn't been able to get to CWM, I would have been screwed badly by it. Don't install the update.

Now back to our regular scheduled thread.

Wish I'd read this before installing. I'm on the EC03 stock, and I'm getting Launcher Pro lock-ups CONSTANTLY.

I was (am) a pretty big fan of LP+ - I became dependent on the the multiple docks and secondary swipe action for each item ... the swiping my central dock icon to bring down the notification bar is a hard to give up (tall phone)

I was having such issues (and I've no idea if it was LP's fault) I've started from scratch for a third time and I'm going with the included launcher for now and it's really just fine imo. I guess I'm a bit scared to try another launcher when things are running so well atm.
