I've been using the Google Now launcher since the second day I've owned my Tab S. The stock launcher seemed very cluttered so I had to try something else. Google Now is so much like my Moto X I went with it.
What do you use on yours?

I know I would appreciate it if folks could sometimes actually post a link to the suggested app. I find that sometimes looking for these apps, more than one app shows up with the same or similar name and I don't know which one was really suggested.

Google Now launcher since day 1 for me.

Wanted to keep it similar to my phone (Nexus 5)

I'm not sure this is a Launcher question.

I am rather new to Android and definitely this Tab S. Say, I've been using Chrome and opened a series of webpages. But now I want to get back out to the MAIN ICON page - the one(s) where all my icons are located. I now repeatedly hit the Back Button which can be tedious if I've visited a dozen pages. Is there some trick I'm missing? Or is there a Launcher I can get and put on the Toolbox bar that would allow me almost direct access to the "home screen?"

Thanks in advance.

Nova launcher

Not sure if it's just my tablet or what, but whenever I use Nova (free), my battery goes down the drain. 10% drop an hour even on stand by. I was this close to returning the tablet, but then I switched to TouchWiz and voila! 10% a DAY on standby.

You don't need a shortcut, you already have one! Just hit the 'Home Button' and it should take you back to your main homescreen. The 'back' button on a browser acts as the PREVIOUS button on a PC browser, so that will only take you back to every page you've visited this session until it runs out of pages to view, in which case the Back button acts as an EXIT button. But using the home button you can go back to your homescreen from any app.

Not happening on mine. I am using the paid version, though.

That's funny. It is now working. When I tried that Button in the past few days, I would get some kind of Google or other Search screen. That's why I asked for another way. Thanks.

If you long-press the home button then yes, that triggers Google Search. If you just press it once (tap), it takes you to your Home Screen. :)

Apparently I do not have enough posts to put links in my replies, but the free version is Nova Launcher, and the paid version is Nova Launcher Prime. I also use TeslaUnread for Nova Launcher, which adds the # of unread items (emails, texts etc.) to homescreen icons. All these apps are made by TeslaCoil software.

I've recently started using Google Now, since that is what I have on my phone. I do also like TouchWiz though, but seems a bit too cluttered.

Honestly the only thing I could remove from TouchWiz right is the darn rightmost homescreen (the one with the widgets). I mean, if it was useful, I'd love that page, but the freakin' widgets never auto-update! Then what's the point!
