Launching camera keeps requesting to "Tag locations"

Small issue that I can't seem to resolve at the moment. I have unchecked the Camera option in the Location Services setting (so it will NOT geotag photos/videos) but when launching the camera, it keeps defaulting to the "Tag photos" screen prompt before I can take a shot, and resulting in often missed shots. In taking a quick photo, I'd expect to just double tap on the volume down key, take the shot and be done. But so far it's been double tap, hit "No" to get rid of the Tag photos prompt, THEN shoot. Frustrating.

With that, I also notice that the custom settings I've set on the Camera (4:3, HDR off, etc.) keep reverting to defaults.

I'm led to assume that the camera is not retaining custom settings and reverts to default. Please advise if this is not the case. I'd be very disappointed, this camera has so much potential.

That's weird. I disabled geo tagging on mine and don't have that problem. Perhaps try to clear app data on the camera app

I had that when I had the "Force GPU Rendering" turned on in the developer settings. That was one of the many issues it caused.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked my dev settings and Force GPU rendering is off. Very odd.

I'm now experiencing this hmmm very odd indeed its not just the geo tag but my preferred storage.

Going to have to investigate as this has just started to happen after reading this post...

Again today. I am so frustrated. Have not changed the Location settings. Not sure what's causing this to revert but it's really annoying that I have to bypass this prompt at random inconvenient times.

Guys this is driving me nuts, I got the prompt again. Location settings have remained untouched. I will need to clear the data/cache on the camera app and hope for the best...

For those of you who are fortunate enough to not have this issue, what setting is your location mode on? High accuracy (GPS + networks), battery saving, or device sensors (GPS only)?

Mine is on Battery saving, but I never had that issue even when I had it on GPS+Networks

I have the same problem. Sometime when i open the camera, it will prompt a message and ask if i want to tag location, sometime it will also ask if i want to save the picture into SD cards, which i confirmed i already set these two settings for so many times previously.

I have mine on High Accuracy GPS (with Wifi and GPS enabled all the time) and I have never seen it popped up other than the first time I set it to do Geo Tag. OP, do you do power reset or switch battery on your G4? I almost never reset or never switch my battery. I wonder if the camera app get reset on a battery swap.

I only had it the first time I opened the camera and I turned geo tag off. Haven't seen it pop up again. I use GPS only for location.

I just tried it and no issues. I went to Locations and unchecked the camera option.
