I just got a text from VZW about the emergency call button and it says a new software update would be available. Could it be the real Froyo?

Doubtful... It is probably the fix for the DL09 update where they broke the that functionality.

Keep getting a force close because of a process com.google.process.gapps, any ideas how i can fix this , ill try to reflash as cory suggested in the end of the first post..... again =(

Okay - post #3 has the new VVM files. All you need to do is step 2, because you've already done step 1.

Could someone tell me if I NEED to have Dl09 to do this? I cannot get that update because of an error.

We know what works is going from DL09. If you don't have DL09 either do an over the air update to get DL09, or install it as outlined per step 1.

I would uninstall and reinstall from the Market.

Everyone having FC issues that can't resolve it by flashing DL09 per step 1, standby. I'm about to post an alternative.

Give it another minute or so, and if nothing try pulling the battery and rebooting. The first time I booted back up I got stuck on the Samsung splash screen.

Okay if you're still having FC issues, do the following:

1) Use ODIN to flash DI01. If you're unclear on how to flash with ODIN, read post #1, or if you need step by step pictures, then read DroidXcon's procedure.

2) Do an OTA update to DL09. This will take approximately 10 minutes.

3) Go back to post #1 of this thread and start from the beginning.

I'm sure someone has some other and/or easier way to do it, but this is my suggestion. It's clean and will bury anything haunting you from your past.

I'm on Superdark ROM and running a DJ05/DL09 Kernel. I would rather be on DL09 before attempting this, do you guys agree? Can I get a link to a DL09 download also..

I was having force close issues and went back and wiped cache and data and reinstalled. No more force close issues.

Yeah... I did that too but others were having issues so I thew this idea up as it helped me as a secondary method.

Been running since lunchtime and Touchwiz seems to be a little snappier than DL09. Came from a rooted version of the DL09 update and wiped data/cache before flashing. Observations:

- GPS works flawlessly
- no more bing default in browser or search soft key *
- flash
- apps2sd
- adjust system font
- homescreen preview (i.e. Leap for SenseUI)
- darkened theme
- vibration intensity toggle
- new text selection in browser (long press for a magnifier, drag to select.)
- noticeable increase in responsiveness
- app drawer still shows apps in the order they were installed. Not sure why they didn't do alphabetical.
- contacts can be displayed based on first or last name.
- long pressing on the notification bar and dragging to the left/right decreases/increases brightness

* looks like this version may not be fully bloated. Bing nor VZ Navigator are installed which causes the Car Cradle shortcuts not to work.
