Leaving Behind for the GN

An OG Motorola Droid.

Current issues with it:
-Random stuff will start crashing
-Sometimes cannot take phone calls
-Sounds occasionally don't work
-LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGG
-Can't stick on wifi for more than a minute without disconnecting itself

All of this except the wifi bit. CM7, by any chance?

I've been drooling over the Nexuses since the Nexus One delivered a blow to my manly bits just months after the OG came out. Happy to have one on VZW, where I still have unlimited data. I drool at the thought of unlimited LTE.

And as much as the above issues with my OG trouble me, I still appreciate it. It has lasted quite a long time relative to every other phone I've had. Hell, I came from an HTC Ozone after one month of painful use. Before that, it was LG dumb phones that broke every few months. But my trusty OG has lasted almost 25 months. That's pretty incredible, IMO.

I'll miss the OG, but I'm excited to move on to this sexy beast.

Im coming from a Droid X. I had an OG Droid and it changed my life! Bought the Droid X out of contract because I felt that was a big jump in awesome! I still and always will hold those to phones very highly.

I've had an upgrade all summer long, followed the Bionic since CES and by the time that baby came out it was only 2-3 months till Nexus time. Im a big fan of Moto Droids. Moto make GREAT phones, plus I cannot believe I'm saying this, but the latest blur isn't shabby. Although I flash roms like crazy.

I am tempted by the RAZR as it is in my opinion a true Droid X sucessor, but I've wanted a Nexus devices ince Big Red almost snatched the Nexus One.

It will be a day of mixed feelings when i get the nexus, as the Droid X with an extended battery and Liberty 3 can do all I need out of a phone.

My dx has had an early retirement since hopefully the day is almost here for the nexus release.
I retired the dx last week to my sock drawer.
I have had an upgrade available since March of this year.

So, after having my Motorola Razr v3i since launch (I got it sometime in 2005; don't remember which month), I'm finally upgrading (and moving from AT&T) to what you kids call "smartphones" and this whole "Android" thing with the GN.

Holy crap, after reading this I pulled mine from years ago out to look at it. I have rekindled respect for my OG droid and can wait a few more weeks for the Gnex. Props for holding out that long....quite a feat.

I'm coming from AT&T and an iPhone 3GS. I was about 50/50 on staying with AT&T and getting a Skyrocket until I learned about AT&T's new policy of throttling users on grandfathered unlimited data plans like mine. They're throttling users down to about 100kbps when they exceed somewhere between 2GB and 5GB of data. What's the point of having unlimited data if I can't actually use it, especially when Verizon has better coverage in my area? I'm been wanting a GNex since it was announced, and now I'm 100% going to get one.

I liked my OG Droid so much I retired it early to save it from additional wear and tear. It is by far the best phone I've ever used. I'm hoping the GN is better.

I'm not sure if It's just from laziness or getting older or what. I also still use a Palm TX every day as well, so I'm going to replace both the RAZR v3i and my Palm TX with the GN. My real problem is moving all my information from the Palm TX to the GN.

What's really funny is that my Palm TX is so old, but it still has a 3.8-ish inch screen, that everyone that sees me using it automatically thinks it's some new smartphone that they haven't ever seen before (a smartphone with a stylus).

Hah!! :)

I'm upgrading from this...
