That's unacceptable. I'd keep hounding Vzn CS and demand a different replacement phone than the Nexus. And if they refused I'd just quit paying Verizon. A friend of mine did that and there isn't anything they can really do to you. If they file a credit ding you can get it fixed by claiming they didn't hold up their end of the contract. There are a few ways to get out of your contract, but not paying them and then expecting it to get removed from your credit report is not one of them. The credit bureau is on your side the same as Wall St. is.
