Led View cover stops working after a while

Hi, the led view cover case accessory in my note 8 stops working after a few hours of use. This includes both led lights and e.g the feature which locks the screen when cover is flipped closed, so if I don't notice it, the screen stays on in my pocket. Phone reset/restart fixes this, but it's pretty annoying to do it every few hours.

Not sure if the issue is caused by the phone or the cover and I can't seem to be able to reproduce the issue at will.

Anyone faced similar issues?

Sound like there could be a conflicting setting somewhere, have you any 3rd party apps for power saving or along those lines

No power saving apps and the issue can occur even if I've just used the phone.
