Lenovo A850+ GPS Auto Turn On/Off - AP Set

[AC Question]

Had this phone for past 4 months and this problem only started yesterday. I have not installed, updated or removed any programs/apps recently. I've already rebooted few times and removed several updates, unchecked permissions form google and other apps but its still recurring. Its currently being a drain my batt life which I couldn't afford to have with my lifestyle. Oh btw I'm in MY and using the Maxis line.

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, but can you be more specific about the problem? Is GPS turning on despite the phone being set to Battery Saving or Location Off?

Its turning on despite on batt save and unchecking the location access

How do you know GPS is turning on? Are you seeing the GPS icon appear in the status bar? Or is it showing up in the battery graph?

This is when its off.



This is when its on.

Currently it sometimes appears intermittently and sometimes constantly.Usually I keep my GPS on most of the time but the icon would not appear on the status bar unless its being actively used to find current location (e.g. Waze or Google Maps).

Can you also show us the Settings>Location​ menu?

This is really odd. What happens if you turn on Location, but only turn on Wi-fi & Mobile Network Location?

Maybe you should contact Lenovo support. What country do you live in?
