Lets be serious....4g really isnt that great

My 4g in the Charlotte area is the same down and only slightly faster up. Very disappointing.

When I've been in Charlotte and run speed tests it's been really fast. Tests blew my wifi out of the water along with my friend's Sprint 4G.

"No point of buying the Tbolt if you're not gonna use its 4G."

Except that it's the only Verizon phone with SVDO.

Have to agree, from day one I've been getting really fast down and up speeds. But, it totally depends on which part of Charlotte you're in. Mecklenburg county is huge. I live in South Charlotte and get fantastic speeds, but when I go up to North Charlotte the LTE speeds do get slower.

I mean, for downloads its faster - loading flash pages and stream video....but for checking facebook, looking at pictures, updating twitter, it really only seems a LITTLE faster, if that.

At the same time, it kills battery. 3G just seems like an allaround better technology, will run most of my every day apps at nearly the same speed. What are yall using 4G for that makes it worth it to you? Im cool with it because its no additional cost, but doesnt seem worth it to pay extra unless you're using a laptop or something.

For 4G purposes.

I don't have LTE.However, I have an Evo with Wimax. Right now I only have 2 bars out of 3.

As I type here. I am USB tethering my computer to my Evo,and at the same time I am streaming
Gone with the Wind on Netflix(on the Evo).No buffering at all! and the picture looks like it is in HD
freaking stunning!

I just did a speed test earlier on my computer and I'am still at a pretty reasonable 5.80MB DL and 1.2MB UL while doing the above connections. This is also from greater than 2500 miles from the nearest server(Yes I'am in Hawaii).

I can only imagine that having LTE speeds would make for far more robust multitasking experience without taking a hit in speed and in process.

;)

It's only a matter of time before Sprint switches their network over to LTE. Wi-Max has terrible reception indoors, and the speeds don't even compare.

Once the kinks are worked out of LTE it's going to be a beast of a network.
