Let's see the battery life

Testing out the battery life in my first full day of use. Took off the charger around 7 this morning. I don't expect V30 level battery life which was insanely good but I'll see how this does. I have the settings on adaptive brightness, 90hz, and auto resolution switch. At 83% as of 9:19am.

Pretty greatso far actually.

Can you tell me if you have the 6, 8 or 12GB Ram version? All of the reviewers had the 12GB version and I have been wondering if the RAM had an impact on battery life.

Yes I have the 8gb version and I'm starting to wonder the same thing even though more RAM should help with battery life or so I thought.

If these readings are accurate I'm at 4 hours SOT and only down to 62% which is way better than what I was expecting.

The way RAM Works is it has to have power running through it when the phone is on. So more RAM will use more power the whole time the phone is On. While it can help improve battery life having more during intense tasks, because you do not need to constantly move data between ROM and RAM, During every day tasks when you are not transferring Tons of data, Less RAM can improve battery life. I get mine tomorrow and am really happy to see your results so far.

Yeah me too. I will see if it changes over this week but I'm very pleased right now.

Ok I'm calling it. The battery lasted me all day and then some. I'll see how the week holds up. I think the auto switch for the resolution is playing a big part as well. Just guessing. 7 hours SOT with 32% left seems unbelievable.

Well, day two is showing very strong results and all worries I had about the battery life have been completely eliminated thus far. Dare I say the battery life is even equal to or better than on my V30. I'm impressed.

I'm at SOT of 5 hrs 21 mins with 56% remaining since last charged. But I'm conservative with my settings:

Brightness 45%
Display on FHD+
Screen refresh 90
Location only on to and from work
Dark themes / wallpaper everywhere

Overall it seems equal to or a little better than my 6T. But I'm only a day in...

I can't complain thus far about the battery life. I was using an S8 Active which had great battery life and so far the 7 Pro is doing well. Some music streaming via SiriusXM and Google Music, some YouTube videos, some gaming etc...

You should try the adaptive brightness option too. So far the phone has never been too aggressive with lowering the brightness and I've never felt like I needed to turn it up either. It does a great job metering the brightness at whatever level is needed.

Edit: adaptive brightness was toggled off the whole time and that's why I never needed more or less brightness.

What is your screen calibration set to?

Edit: I know realize I never had the adaptive brightness on at all lol so my screen brightness has been untouched at about 45% the whole time.

So apparently LG and OnePlus do automatic or adaptive brightness totally different. The setting is on with my 7 Pro. Today was the first time I saw the display actually dim and also the brightness can still be toggled while this mode is on which on my previous LG devices it would be grayed out with auto brightness on. Little confusing but I think I got it now.

8-12 hours SOT in average at 90Hz / Smart resolution. No gaming. Mainly Netflix, YouTube. Web browsing, Email client, etc... I spent most time indoors so far with OP7 PRO, so brightness is not being cranked up soo high.

I must say this phone is beating my expectations.

I received my OP7 Pro on Tuesday afternoon. It was at about 50% Charge. I went through set up, and installed most of my apps and set them all up and just played with the phone until it went completely dead.

I then plugged it in and let it charge all the way to 100% before taking it off charge about 8 PM Tuesday Night. Did my normal night activities ( Social media, a YouTube video or 2) and then went to bed without plugging it in.

Woke up Wednesday morning, again, just normal checking of emails, WAZE on my way to work and things like that. Now at 11 AM the battery is showing this, 52% with 3 hours of screen on time.

I have Single tap to show screen. Adaptive Brightness and refresh. Both SIM Slots Populated, only one LTE active. WIFI at home, so far no wifi at work, though I left the wifi radio on. Bluetooth watch running on it as well.
