Unfortunately in my city it's like iPhone Central. The Google Pixel displays at Best Buy (which are always small and in some hard to find corner) go completely ignored. At least it gave me the chance to try the phone for a bit. Though the Pro definitely feels more premium I'm still happy I chose the regular 6.

That's how it was when I went to BB yesterday. I walked around the phones and then finally had to ask where the Pixel's were because I couldn't find them. They were on the end cap of one of the aisles with zero attention being paid to them. I think the general public has no clue about these phones. The rep demoed the magic eraser function live in the store and having used the same function in Photoshop, it really was pretty impressive, although I'm not sure how much I'll end up using it.

Portrait mode which gives you the classic 1x and 2x focal lengths from the main camera. I'm guessing the 4x is to zoomed in for this mode and you get better portraits in any lighting condition using the main sensor. 1x and 2x sample from the rear camera. This is looking very good.

Not sure whats going on in this image......I can tell that its a photo of a photo because the blacks in the hair and the darks in the eyes look unnatural, with silver undertones, and the guys skin looks pale.

Lol this is me! I can tell you with my own eyes that the photo came out great with the signature Google look and the cutout was near perfect. It's probably because I took the photo so it doesn't translate as well but I just wanted to give people a general idea of the quality. Don't overanalyze too much.

This is the best one I've seen this far and has me excited for the 6 Pro which will no doubt receive many more updates and features over time. I'm looking for Google to add 4x telephoto portrait mode in the future but it's good to know that you can get naturally great portrait shots from the telephoto without the software magic.

Oooh, exciting!.

Yeah, ordered asap on release Tuesday. Was supposed to come today 28th but changed to Tuesday about an hour after order.

Liking it so far. I have a pretty high bar, but so far so good.

Few thoughts - Google's charger is as about advertised - 50pc in under half an hour. Can't really give any real thoughts about the battery those early except to say it "feels" slightly better than my S21U Exynos out the gate.
Don't like A12 battery stats though.

Dual 5G Sims works as expected with 1 sim and 1 esim. 5G , 4G+ carrier aggregation, WiFi calling and volte all good.

Have 2 apps that I use a lot that are insta crashing under A12. Fine on A11 on my other pixel.

And taking of A12 - my son thought it funny he got to see it before me on his P3a . It updated on Sunday night.

Camera - I always say the person behind the camera is the most important part. I know pixels are point and shoot. Off the bat the main camera is excellent. Great colour reproduction. I'll test everything else a bit more before judgement.


Might even keep this one longer than 2 weeks which makes it the best pixel for me so far
