Let's see your Pixel 6 and 6 Pro photos!

Morning shadows.

Yeah, I always tap and shoot, but for whatever reason, the camera just wasn't pulling it's weight today. I generally have zero problems with any Pixel camera, and actually carry around a Pixel 4 as my camera, partially because I don't want to drain my daily driver's battery with camera activity, and partially because of the unlimited photo storage. I know the Pixel 6 should have a better camera, which is why I think being on the beta at least messed with this particular set of photos. Here are a few more from that same group of photos where the camera decided to act like a good a decent Pixel. Here, the wind is blowing her hair around, and yet there's zero blur or distortion. Similarly, features are sharp and detailed. unfortunately, portrait mode decided to include the right bush with the subject and only blur the bush on the left.

Image stabilization on the child is phenomenal -- but I agree about the bush on the right.

Thank you. Pixels always do such an amazing job capturing stills despite the motion, to the point that I'm always shocked when literally every other camera I point and shoot with can't do the same exact thing. The Pixel line definitely spoils me, which was why it was so weird to have it act up the way it did in the series of shots I took.

Much better outcome. Mid-run, mid-striking dad with bubble wand, no blur, individual hair strands are visible, and there's no softening due to the movement.

Wow! Phenomenal action shots! Christmas card worthy, for sure!

I think that these two photos, which I took today in a sitting room at the Chateau de Cheverny, reinforce for me the wisdom of choosing the Pixel 6 Pro as the device I use to record our experiences. The clarity of the details, the simultaneous intensity and subtlety of the colors, and the reproduction of the lighting variations are, IMO, pretty impressive for a phone camera.

Those shots are great. I'm always tempted to shoot shots like this with multiple phones and pixel peep afterwards, just to see which camera gets more detail and which turns into a sloppy mess at the macro level.

Today's double loop encompassing two good rides for 26.5 or so miles and about 1,200-1,700 gain. First to Discovery Park (no pictures), on to Smith Cove and ships anchored, cruise ship Seabourn Odessey, back north to portage across the Ballard Locks, then on to Golden Gardens (beach) and up the switchbacks to Sunset Park. A grand urban adventure although.

We took my aunt to dinner last night for her 91st birthday, and enjoyed some amazing prime rib. It was dark enough that Night Sight turned on.

Send her a semi-anonymous birthday greeting from the web.

Well, I did not get any photos in Discovery Park yesterday. So on today's walk in the park (just before it started to drizzle), a few shots. Lupine and the native Nootka Rose.

And finally some shots from Angel Island, Pixel 6 Pro.

First shot is wide angle, I think, while the 2nd shot is around 6x zoom.

Harbor seal lazing on the dock. This was around 12x zoom.
