Made some changes.
Im using nova launcher, cant change the app button icon. I have changed it in nova settings to different icons which show are applied, but on home screen its not. ?

Does anyone ever have or remember HTC phones with Sense? When it rained it rained on your screen or snow would fall on your screen and then were these windshield wipers. Is their a weather app that does that does anyone know? I used to love that! Love your rain wallpaper and Nova set up. I think I tried another launcher once way back on an HTC phone but I just use Samsung.

Ya, then tap the icon to change select an icon tap that to apply, shows that its applied but on home screen still showing the same ugly 6 dot icon.

That was doable with Beautiful Widgets that I used for years, but the BW app is now orphaned and hasn't been updated since 2016 and from what I've read no longer works with Android 11.

Oh yes I had beautiful widgets but this was an HTC sense thing also.. I just miss it! Thanks!

I LOVED that too - my LG G3 did that too on my lockscreen. Wish an app could do this!!

I miss those days. Six months was an eternity in smart phone design.

I still have my rooted n rom'd htc evo. Cool little phone, still use it every now and then as an mp3 player. Still have 3 of the original batteries and they all still hold a good charge after all these years !

You may be able to edit the icon by pressing and holding it and using the pencil icon to edit it.

Thats what i had been doing but it wont stick to the home screen . Maybe a bug with nova, strange that its the only one that will not change. Pehaps cause its a system icon ? Dunno.

I have never had that problem. Are you using the nova 7 beta? It may be worth downloading and installing that to see if it works any better.

I changed my icons. Agenda items and alarms have widgets that only show up when there is something to show for that day. Many icons have Swipe Up and Swipe Down actions that make sense in my brain (e.g. Messages icon can also activate Messenger and Discord). Now that I have everything exactly how I want it, I guess it is time to throw it all away and try to find something new and different. Why do we do this to ourselves.

I have the most boring plain home screen lol.
I rather just swipe up if I ever need app icons since I mostly use the edge panel to launch my apps.
