The V30 might have a lot of hype, but I'm gonna wait, at least to see if there's a significant price drop and after reading user reviews. Only 4GB of RAM and 3200 mAh battery isn't worth the upgrade. If there's no dual pixel technology in the camera, it's an automatic no, they need to catch up with the times. When I heard about the V20 back in October, I bought it the first day it came out and I have no regrets. V30, don't think I'll do that after hearing about the specs and design.

Re: Who else is waiting for the V40?

Well, tbh, there will always be something better coming in the following year.

You will never be satisfied by playing the waiting game.

Re: Who else is waiting for the V40?

Well, the longer you wait, the more you will be disappointed. The rate of improvement is slowing rapidly... with each year's gains getting less and less. Unless there is some massive breakthrough in the tech, that's how things are going to be while the platform matures and everything plateaus.

Why throw the V40 into mix when the V30 isn't even out yet and you don't know what the actual specs are. Also many who won't jump to a V30 may jump to something in between.

Phone manufactures are profiting by continuing to slowly release older tech. That's why I'm looking at the One Plus and Huawei phones. Better value and top end specs (come on, 8GB RAM while everyone else gets 4GB still?). The mainstream market gets the same old stuff, just rehashed and favorite features taken away.

Quite honestly, 8GB of RAM is something only specheads will notice.

Even OP5 users agreed that the average user can hardly notice the effects of extra RAM. 4GB is more than mighty for most tasks. 6GB is nice but a little much while 8GB is rather overkill unless you're an extremely heavy user.

The mainstream OEMs are focused on crafting a different experience from their rivals.

Re: Who else is waiting for the V40?

What people fail to realize is that ram has nothing to do with speed, however when you overload memory it can slow down.

Re: The V30 is going to have a curved screen (leaked photos)

Looks like a flatter S7/S8 to me... Advocates of the 'do not take removable batteries or your phone will be a flop!' movement will not be happy with this, though. Neither are those who still want a headphone jack or IR blasters.

Where did you hear no headphone jack? I have not heard that at all.

I'm not sure I'm going to buy it, however the curves would not affect my choice unless it makes the image wrap around the screen.

So LG a few years back seemed to copy Samsung, than they got a little unique with the G2, and placing buttons on the back. Now after the G5 flop and mediocre V20 sales they must have decided, can't beat am, join an!

V30 rumors are shaping up to be a Galaxy Note 8 with no pen and fewer features, will even look almost identical!

There's not much you can do with rectangles and glass to look different.

Re: Who else is waiting for the V40?

I just picked up my V20 in May when the price dropped so I won't be picking up a V30. I have my G4 as a backup as well so I have 2 phones with a removable battery and great camera that will keep me happy for awhile. My company provides me with top of the line laptop and desktop so majority of my work is done on there anyway so no cost out of my pocket which keeps me happy.

The leaks were bogus....this is the real V30
