LG fans, do you feel betrayed by the V30 rumors?

Big one is 2:1, small one is 16:9. Both metal backs with that glass window thing, but the glass is smaller this year.
Small one too small. I like 5.5-5.7 16/9. Prefer plastic to meta for wireless charging capabilities

Glass, plastic, metal, leather, etc all the same to me as I have put a case on every phone I ever owned. Materials that allow wireless charging are more important to me.

Curved edges are the only thing I am seeing that annoys me about this phone. I really like tempered glass protectors and I have found none that I am happy with on my S7 (non-edge). I resorted to using a Spigen hard plastic one, and if the renders and leaks are correct, the V30 may have the same or similar screen shape.

I used to be a huge pusher for removable batteries; I travel a lot, and I always liked popping in a new battery. Now that I have used my S7 for about 15 months, I have come to appreciate the water resistance and I have been satisfied with managing my battery for travel purposes. The S7 with a non-removable battery has really been manageable for me, and I was worried about that when I got the phone. Fast charging and wireless charging has kept me happy.

I will be annoyed if wireless charging does not make it to Canada, as quickly popping my phone on my desk wireless and car charger means that I routinely get to the evening with about 60% battery without me thinking much about it and using the phone all day. Messing with cables would be an annoyance for me, especially if other markets got that feature (but may not be a deal-breaker, if the device has stellar battery life in reviews and early consumer reports).

Re: I'm probably not getting a V30, here's why

Latest rumors:

"The LG V30 is also said to double up on the internals, with a 3,000+mAh battery capacity, a Snapdragon 835 and 6GB RAM pairing plus a camera that will have the widest aperture in a smartphone, ever."

LG V30 and G6 Press Renders Reveal That Company Has Taken ‘Reducing Bezels’ on Upcoming Flagship to a Whole New Level

Look like the battery is going to be 3000mAh. Dang, sorry it's a no-go. Rather get a S8 Active.

The others leaks claim 3200.... Why should I believe this one?

It's a sacrifice in order to grow. The V30 is extremely appealing to Pixel and former Apple fans, as well as Samsung fans. If they gotta leave us in the dust, then that's what they gotta do. Just wish someone kept the removable battery feature, tired of buying phones over and over again just to have the battery die so sooner than expected.

I disagree on Pixel fans. Pixel fans buy the phones to ensure they are the first to have the latest updates. The other features just need to be ok. Then again, Google has had a hard time selling Pixel phones. LG might get a few Apple users, but the iPhone 8 is looking like a powerhouse - I think Apple will get a big surge in sales. The biggest market for LG with the V30 is to go after people who want something different that stands out from the crowd.

Isn't nearly every phone now an eye-candy showpiece?

The only phones that I know have a removable battery are the V20 and a heap of cheapskate mobiles. The V20 is the only current high-end device with a removable battery.

It's not like you can't replace the battery on a sealed phone. I had my dad's phone sent in for repairs and they offered to swap the battery. After a day, it's all well and good. Had it not needed repairs, I would say it would actually take no more than 20-30 minutes.

Yes, it's longer than just doing a quick swap like what I used to do with the LG G4, but it is indeed doable.

Yes, but what's the price differential between buying a battery and swapping it yourself in 30 seconds vs. taking the phone to a shop, buying a battery, and having a shop employee replace it?
