LG G2: Should I take the plunge?

If the cash is not the issue, I would really consider it.

I was about to and refreshed the page. Sold, obviously someone else say how good of a deal it was. Fail. O well not in any rush. The search continues. Gives me something to do. Wife probably would have given me a hard time for doing that on Valentine's Day anyways. Haha.

I have been surfing ebay and other internet retailers for a good deal on an AT&T LG G2. I currently have a Nexus 4 and I am a bit bored of it and would like a bigger better screen (but not overly big). I don't mind a used phone as long as it looks and functions like new. I have some bids going now and I will definitely buy if I can do it for $300 or under (on "new" or "like new"). I don't mind the that the LG G2 has been out for a bit and hasn't been updated yet, I am perfectly content with Jelly Bean, there isn't much new that is a must have in Kit Kat for my needs. So what do you guys think? Is the LG G2 still a good phone to pick up for $300?

Somethings that concern me:
-The size it doesn't seem too much bigger than the Nexus 4. I have held a Samsung Galaxy S4 and didn't mind that size.
-AT&T Battery life. I have heard this phone has great battery life, but on the forums I have read horror stories about the AT&T model battery life.
-New phones are coming out! This doesn't really bother me, new phones are always right around the corner. My contract isn't up for a bit, I just need something to hold me over.

Input! Yours! Appreciated!

Look on craigslist for a Verizon branded model, they are unlocked, come with wireless charging and best of all at least from what I have seen are way cheaper than the AT&T/Tmobile versions. You can flash the AT&T stock rom onto it and it will get LTE and work exactly like an AT&T branded phone with the bonus of wireless charging. I have seen the Verizon model for as low as $200 on Craigslist in my area and generally averages $275-$325 asking price. I picked up mine for $260 and flashed the AT&T rom, after having a G2 on Sprint for awhile. I love it and it works perfect!

Re: Should I take the plunge?

Well it has got to be better than my N4. Honestly if I can go 1 day that is what is important, and it sounds like that is an easy task for the G2.

I have had mine for a couple months and love the battery life, I am a moderate user and mine lasts me 18-20 hrs before I need a charge and it charges up very quickly!

I think its still a good buy. The snapdragon800 is still a beast of a chip and the camera+ large battery make it a solid phone.

Well I was in a bidding war on eBay and ended up paying a little more than I wanted to. I got a 32 gb Black very lightly used G2 with a spigen slim armor case for 375.00 free expedited shipping. Came with all original packaging and charger as well. Stoked. Thanks for your input guys!

Get ready for some amazing battery life.

I would suggest a factory reset as soon as you get it just so you're starting fresh before you customize it to your liking.

I love my One partly because I'm so accustom to sense but I'm jealous of my daughters LG G2 on a daily basis due to the battery life.

Hey thanks man. I always do a factory reset on a used device even if it appears one was just done before sent to me. Super excited about the battery life and supposed amazing screen. I am a big gamer so I think the size bump and screen coupled with the battery life will be a good marriage of specs for me.

I switched from a nexus 4 to a g2, because I dropped my n4 in the sink. It took a while to come around to the UI, stock android is definitely slicker and less cartoonish. The G2 feels a little inconsistent, it has crazy animations in some places and lacks animations in places where you might expect them. There are different themes in all the LG apps. But the G2's UI is better looking than touchwiz. Despite the small issues you might have with the UI, coming from the nexus, some of LG's add-ons are actually really good. Quick memo's great, q slide has been useful at times, and I use quick remote all the time. That, the camera, and the battery are why I'd never switch back to a nexus. I'd miss a lot of LG's features, whereas the nexus doesn't offer anything I can't get by rooting. I've used xposed to make it look more like stock, but I still have all of LG's software features, so I've made my G2 almost perfect for me. But if you decide not to do that, it's still a better overall compromise imo.

Thanks for your honest input. I am very much looking forward to receiving it this week. I know it will take some getting used to coming from stock, but really that is what I am looking for, a little challenge :D

LG has a terrible UI on that phone, which is most unfortunate cause the hardware is killer and the camera is impressive as well.

I am a Nova fan too, but I actually don't mind the LG UI and occasionally switch back to the stock launcher for a while. I think the thing I hated most at first was the super busy notification panel. I was used to the simpler ones on my Motorola Droids. But it didn't take long to get used to it and find some of it quite useful.

Nova works well to mimic KitKat. GEL is also a good alternative. Neither slow the phone down at all, it actually feels faster on my LG Optimus G and LG G Pad

Using third party launchers negates potential reasons for buying the phone.

If you're just buying for hardware then there are other phones with hardware just as good but less glossy plastic build quality.

I've not heard any complaints so far. I see you're using the 5S. If i were you i'd be significantly more worried about the build quality of your own phone than the g2.

What other hardware can I get with a 5.2 in. IPS LCD screen and rear mounted buttons? I already purchased the phone anyways.
