Huh
You provided good information! I'm also on T-Mobile. At idle - my battery temps have been around 30c/86f today. CPU usage bounces between 15 and 30% and will spike at 50% occasionally, but doesn't stay there for more than an instant. This is only one data point - but we are both on the same carrier.
One more thing you might if you want to verify the searching for networks is churning battery - turn on airplane mode when you're at work for the first hour or so (if not too inconvenient) and see if the battery still drops.
My T-Mobile account info also spikes up on days - CPU usage, and I've stopped it. You may want to open My Account and turn off metrics collection. It likely won't make a much of a difference but every bit helps.
My internal storage has 18.40 GB free and the SD card is almost completely empty (29.12 GB free out of 29.16). I downloaded OS monitor and now see the CPU gets up to 80% usage without anything open at times, and I'm not entirely sure why yet. I just disabled/uninstalled a few apps and force stopped a few others to see if that will help at all.
Also worth noting, I noticed the Tmobile My Account app using up to 40% of the CPU at times, with the battery going over 100 degrees F. So, I turned that one off as much as it would allow without being rooted and I haven't seen it come back on in the last few mins. The battery heat is finally dropping now, back down to 93 degrees, so maybe that app was just a mega CPU drain.
I have around 1GB, or a little more, free for RAM.
Besides the random apps I have stopped, I think it might also be the excessive searching for signals that is causing things to really drain the battery. I've been at work for 2 hours and have dropped 50% in battery already.
In the meantime, I bought a new, longer charger cable to hold me over until this is fixed.Thank you for all the suggestions, I really appreciate it and will continue to monitor more closely from now on.
