LG G3: AT&T

Chances the ATT LG G3 will keep qi wireless charging?

Since ATT is siding/promoting PMA wireless charging, what are the chances that they will keep qi charging on the LG g3?

On the LG g2 ATT disabled qi charging completely.

Re: Chances the ATT version will keep qi wireless charging?

I think it's safe. The G PRO has it.

Anyone else not loving that logo smack dab in the middle of the back? Hope it rubs off easily...

Like a zebra has stripes lol!

I'd say $600-650 off contract. I'd use NEXT for this thing!

With crapware as a sure thing and not to mention how the NEXT program is sadly a waste of time for me anyways I think I will pass on this. Looks like a great device but LG needs to sell them directly with no bloat and unlocked for me to even consider it. Still gonna make a sweet device for people though!

It's funny that one of the main features of the phone listed on the LG website is less apps than before. Apparently their way to lessen the bloat was to simply consolidate some apps into one. Being able to disable/delete was mentioned as well, but I'm not sure if they just meant it in the same manner as touchwiz...

I just hope AT&T doesn't stick us with the 16gb model. That's their usual MO. Dicks.

As far as bloatware, that's the reason I've been considering the OnePlus One, but you have to have an invite to buy that phone and they are difficult to come by. At least the G3 has an sd card slot and removable battery. That's the trade-off for the bloatware, I guess.

I'm just gonna wait for the next Moto X (+1). Then I will get a new phone if I need one.

I love the fact that I could buy my current Sony Z2 direct and not have a trace of AT&T crap on it. I just wish there was a way to do the same thing with a G3.

One should not have too root and/or flash a device to get of apps that you do not want. Never again will I buy a carrier branded device. Just my personal choice though!

Re: Chances the ATT version will keep qi wireless charging?

Does it cost them extra to keep it?

Just hate taking the risk of bricking an expensive new phone.

I know how you feel, i felt that way years ago before i started doing it. I found there are many ways to brick a device, but always a way to UNbrick it. I just had this issue with my G Pad last week, went to update it to 4.4 while rooted and got stuck in bootloop, folks at XDA have enough know how to fix it. I always tell myself to stop rooting, but its so FUN!

Agreed. i try to ignore the useless AT&T apps, but popping them into a folder helps to lol. I dont mind the random clutter, makes it harder for my kids to find games on my phone lol

Re: Chances the ATT version will keep qi wireless charging?

They removed it from the Lumia 1520.

Re: Chances the ATT version will keep qi wireless charging?

AT&T has reps on the Board of Directors for PMA. Thats why the AT&T 1520 doesn't have Qi charging, and probably why the G3 wont have Qi. Probably will have a PMA variant or case.

Re: Still no word from att???

Tell me about it. Now even Sprint has announced their release date. I just want a release date. Cmon AT&T.... :(
