LG G3: AT&T

How do I take a still while watching a video I shot?

On the Flex, it is one tap while watching. Even for .webm and a couple other non native formats. The most limited in terms of screenshotting and controls on the Flex is 4K video...

How is the signal strength in the Chicago area? Does it work in buildings and stores?

I live in south suburban Chicago and I can say that the AT&T LG G3 has been just as good signal as my Galaxy S5. I haven't had any dropped calls or any complains from people that I talk to. It sounds great on my end too. In the back of grocery stores that I shop (I've had problems with other carriers) I get a good signal with no problems, exactly like my S5.

Problems with my at&t G3

The LG PC Suite (Sync) won't update to the latest version.
v5.3.06.20130913 to 5.3.17.20140521
Getting error that says: could not verify update with the update server.
I guess I need this update because under the USB connection method, I don't have a LG Software choice; therefore cannot connect. It does however work over wifi.

The music file is not linked to any of the music players. I loaded my music to the folder but both music and google music doesn't see that folder. It does see and play the Preload contents where the LG .flac files are stored. How do I link the proper folder to the music players? Setup doesn't help.

So far I am not impressed. I like my G2 over the G3.

Re: Problems with my at&t G3

Once I installed the software I just moved files around in Windows. I've barely touched the LG software.

Re: Problems with my at&t G3

Your entire critique is about a setup issue? I too came from the g2,and loved it. You would be hard pressed not to the improvements of the g3 over the g3. Setting your phone up can take some adjustment time and can be frustrating.

Hi. We recommend uninstalling and re-installing PC Suite to see if this resolves your issue. Let me know if this works. ^DT

ATT LG G3 Circle case and Qi

Just picked up the circle case from ATT I can confirm it does not work with QI CHARGERS.

I guess most knew but in case it doesn't with my Nokia Qi charger.
I do like the case very much though and at 30 dollars may keep it.

Re: LG G3 and LTE Advance compatible??

I mean Lte Advance that ATT is deploying with up speeds of over 80 mb downloads ect .. Is this phone capable if this .. In Chicago they are already deploying LTE Advance .. I know the Galaxy 5 is ready for this

Re: ATT LG G3

Im in Miami Florida where I heard ATT has the best coverage in Florida along with Verizon and yes happens in same areas.. In buildings I do get bounced around from LTE to 4g .. When I go down to 2 bard 4g it slows down big time to a crawl
thanks

Re: ATT LG G3

Heard and actual are big differences. You always want to do your own actual research before switching. Sensorly.com is a good place for coverage maps from actual users.

As for dropping to 4g.. Are you on a phone call when this happens? Or just some big buildings? Depending on the towers in the area... The type of building... All that stuff... It can have a negative impact on a carrier signal. No one carrier is 100 percent everywhere.

Re: ATT LG G3 Circle case and Qi

AT&T has entirely disabled Qi charging. They have disabled the hardware. You can't buy a different carrier's circle case and make it work. You are forced to buy the Powermat if you want to use wireless charging.

It's their carrier aggregation or whatever. LTE A isn't like the LTE A in other countries (like Korea) ... LTE A has way way higher speeds than 80 Mbps.

You're thinking of carrier aggregation from AT&T that uses the 15x15 Mhz band which allows higher speeds. The G3 should support it.

I have a Note 3 on T-Mobile and I get their 15x15 Mhz band (see below speed test) ... It's not LTE A it's just a faster band. T-Mobile calls it wideband... AT&T calls it carrier aggregation... Verizon calls it XLTE. At the end of the day it's LTE on a higher band so faster speeds.

True LTE A can hit up to 300 Mbps and even higher.

LG G3 Got a hold of LG Flip Case AT&T Variant

Man this thing was not easy to track. The 4th store I called had only one and was nice enough to hold it for me

Initial thought, out the Dot View, Circle View, and S View, this might actually be my favorite and most practical of the three. The Dot View is the most innovative that I liked, especially with the recent update. It just need Media Support and it would rock. The ring on the C View is not metal at all and is clear plastic. It's really neat that when you close the case or double tap on there's a light that circle through the plastic. Multiple clock faces and let's you add certain quick view apps. Best thing is there's no plastic like the S View so when you fold back to take pics nothing is blocking the view. Plus it is creatively designed to work with the back buttons through the hole. Brilliant.

Although the phone is curved the flip folds perfect compared to the Dot View case, which if anyone who has one knows it's tricky trying to find ways to hold it w/o feeling like you're going to drop the phone.

This is the PMA variant so of course I don't have any PMA plates. Hate to have to reinvest in two plates. Stupid on AT&T part as far as I'm concerned. The sides are completed protected as opposed to the S View or the Dot View that let's the side design be displayed. I would have like to see that with the C View. But it's not done ugly. Bottom and top are still exposed.

Overall I like it a lot more. I don't think the plastic ring will scratch the screen as it's completely smooth and you can't tell.

Hope this help anyone who's looking into one.

Re: Got a hold of LG Flip Case AT&T Variant

Great info - thanks!

Did you get it directly from AT&T?

if you find a compatible wireless stand, please post it here, as I'm looking for that as well.

Thanks again.

Re: Got a hold of LG Flip Case AT&T Variant

I have been looking for a case and been eyeing the circle view case. Does the clock stay on in the circle all the time when it's closed? If so how is it on battery life then? Lastly is the back more gripper than the stock back? Thanks for the review and help here.

Yeah I got it from the corporate store. I haven't looked at chargers yet. The power mat they had they wanted $50. Screw that. I found this in Amazon

Duracell Powermat for 2 Devices (PMA compatible)-Black by Duracell Powermat http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0082YVBTA...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU3770638

The clock is glance viewing. Double tap to turn on / off. Otherwise it only stays on for like 5 seconds. The back feel like a better grip but it's not too much a difference. The important thing for me is that I can hold it firmly with the flip folded back. Does not feel awkward at all.
