Hi guys.Recently I bought an LG G3 smartphone. Now the problem is its buttery life.I get like 2 hrs of SOT on a good day.I don't have any battery hungry apps(almost as stock) and I'm no mobile gamer.Use mostly for viber calling (wifi) and texting.Sometimes phone restarts itself and I see sudden drops(10%-20%) in battery level right after that.Phone is on wifi and mobile signals are at medium strength. So what you guys think.where is the problem ,the battery or phone itself?

Do you have Facebook installed? My G3 had similar battery life like yours... Once I deleted it, I can easily get 3.5 hours on screen time now

Would you see Facebook show up on the battery screen as taking a large % of the battery? I've read different things about the app using up a lot, but I've never seen mine being more than like 5%. Granted I don't look at it more than once or twice a day.

Perhaps it does hidden background things like syncing and location stuff, which might show as Google Play Services or similar in the battery stats.

I think my G3 has just started doing this.

I leave my phone in flight mode while I'm in the office and only use it during breaks, usually if I leave it in flight mode it takes 0% or maybe 1% every 2 hours but today it took 20% off while in flight mode.

I've had my G3 for nearly 2 years now so maybe time for a battery change.

Check battery stats and you will find if android process is draining your battery. Maybe you just need to use factory reset?

The main suspects when it comes to battery drain on the G3 are the Facebook App, background location activities. Try a factory reset. That usually does the trick.

Thank you all for your replies.I did a factory data reset several times and that didn't help so i rooted the phone and flashed a custom rom.Now I get 4 hrs of SOT on a good day but sudden reboots are still there.I think my G3's battery has aged.

I ordered 2 new batteries, my phone hasn't had any problems for 5 days now.

I have experienced rapid battery drain in the past with a Nexus 4, just after a major update. After doing the usual Iike clearing the cache, hard reset it was still problematic. Eventually I found an App that perhaps had not been optimised for the upgrade, removed it and the phone settled down again.

With regard to the G3, after 16 months of use I recently bought a genuine factory replacement battery (not cheap) and battery drain is noticeability reduced.

I had awesome battery life until I updated and got Marshmallow. Now my screen is eating the battery rapidlyScreenshot_2016-02-29-10-20-14.jpgScreenshot_2016-02-29-10-20-19.jpg.

Today My G3 officially became unusable. It started a boot loop and can't use unless connected to the charger.Even at 100% battery level as soon as I disconnect the charger it restarts and never boots into os, just stucks at LG logo.In my country its very difficult to find a genuine battery because G3 isn't that popular product here.

I had an all day battery last week. I "upgraded" to Marshmallow, emptied the cache, and the battery life is now terrible. I'm going to do a factory reset tonight and will keep everyone updated.

I love my LG G3 but for the battery. After taking 6 photos, the unit shuts off & even after re-booting, the phone is dead. The battery drains to 70% yet the battery must be charged. The phone only works well while being charged. I carry 3 sparebatteries but they also last just a few minutes although fully-charged.
