Oh, this includes about 40 minutes of playing Spotify at nearly full volume from my pocket. That will explain the Held Awake time being so high.

I am having a horrible time trying to figure out what is causing my recent decrease in battery life to decrease, even at home which I could have 30 or 40 % at the end of the day. Last night I put it on safe mode and it went down 12% from 10pm to 8am. It lasted to 76% through 3pm. Took it out of safe mode and it dropped 42% in 3 hours with very light usage. GSAM doesn't tell me much at all because I can't decipher all of the services Android OS uses. SOT was 39mins to that point. Guess reset is in my future.

Worst battery life on any phone I had. Did 3 or 4 resets and helped nothing. Same thing on my 2nd LG G3, poor battery life and that phone has basically nothing installed on it. Waiting for 5.1 to see if fixes anything or I'll get a different company phone.

Most of the time it will be a wakelock or service that you cannot see with just GSAM. This is mostly an issue with Android and it doesn't affect everyone. The easiest way to find these wakelocks is using an application that requires root. If you are in some way averse to the idea of rooting, you can always factory reset until it works okay.

Sounds like you are having pretty bad luck with getting good battery life. I hope you can find the cause of your issue!

I am not averse to rooting, but what would root give me access to that could pinpoint the causes?

I tried yesterday to just do a minimal usage of my device and see where it ended up. So, with almost 22 hours of battery time, I have a whopping 2 hours 22 minutes of SOT. I was down to 21%. I turned on the device and did a few things like sending a file over Bluetooth and with just a few minutes of screen on, I was down to 4%. It's just a shame that I can't seem to find a way to REALLY determine what causes the steep decline when I read news, webpages, camera. I shouldn't drop 2% every minute or so ready news on Flipboard or an Internet page.

My battery usage has nearly increased 50% in the last few weeks. Before I could go two days after a charge and still have 70 something percent left. Now it will drop down into the 40's with the same amount of time off charge. This and the whole no LED notification issue has really got me disliking this phone right now. It still handles calls fine but it's these annoying little problems that it's suddenly came up with which have me questioning if I want another one or not.

Xocomaox, can you tell us what you did tot your phone ? Rom, tweks etc...

The latest shots are from CloudyG3 ROM (stock-based ROM) with SkyDragon kernel (untouched).

I'm running Xposed Greenify settings, with Lux Auto brightness managing the screen. Nothing fancy, I used to run a lower brightness level but found that the battery lasts a decent amount of time so I run it higher. Like 45-65% average. 20% at night if I'm on the phone in a dark room.

I have push email and sync (app data, contacts, photos, etc) turned on so it's not like I have everything disabled. I used to run Amplify to block wakelocks but I don't even need to do that any more. The phone deep sleeps like a champion, less than 0.25% per hour overnight.

I having the same issue, but it may be even more extreme. Seems to have only started a few weeks ago. Battery life is horrible. If it's not charging, the phone might last 4-6 hours...on standby. If I'm using it, forget about it. Charging is slooow. Phone is laggy. Was fine for 8-10 months and then all of the sudden something changed. I don't believe it coincided with any system update. I did receive one recently from AT&T that I was hoping would fix it, but it did nothing. Software version didn't even change after the update.

The only thing I can think of is that the laggy-ness started as the internal memory was getting full. I started moving apps to my SD card thinking this would help. Around the same time the battery and charging issues showed up. Could I have a bad SD card causing issues? Perhaps a process is constantly trying to access the card causing extra battery drain? I don't see anything strange in my Battery Usage.

I'm thinking of trying the factory reset. Does that put me back to my original OS version or just a clean copy of whatever OS version is on their now?

Factory reset removes your data but does not put you back to factory OS. You'll be on whatever update you last installed.

Data as in what? Apps, contacts, photos, etc.? Because I'm so scared to try one to see if it fixes some other issues. I just don't want to risk losing everything I have permanently.

If you have syncing set up with Google, you should not lose any Contacts or Photos that you have because they are saved and synced on Google's servers. However, you may lose application data for specific apps. Not all work with syncing.

Factory reset seems to have worked for me. Battery life has been back to normal today. Phone is cool to the touch and seems to be performing fine. I did an LG backup before the reset, but I ended up letting Google restore everything instead. I'll likely delete that at some point. I'm still on Android 5.0.1 so nothing seems to have changed there, but clearly there was an issue somewhere.

The reset wasn't as bad as I thought it would be thanks to Google having most everything backed up. It brought back my apps (which wasn't a huge deal), but you will still have reconfigure all of your home pages as they are all just in the generic Apps folder (save for a few of the LG, AT&T, and Google apps). Thankfully most apps are in the cloud, so a simple login gets you back to where you were. I will have to manually add my non-gmail email addresses back, but that's no big deal. Phone settings seemed to be mostly reset as well. I think the G3 separated Videos and Screenshots into their own folders and I'm not 100% sure Google backs them up by default. Make sure you double check that in case it matters. The process was quicker than expected as well. Google installs all the apps in the background while you are free to use the phone.

Thanks!
