I had the G2. Good enough battery life, then kit Kat killed it. 2 Factory Resets (2nd turning off backup/restore my phone), and new SIM card. Replacement seemed to be better. Daughter's phone is in horrible shape, so she said she would like my G2, if I were to upgrade. I got the G3, and I too am unhappy with the battery life, and have experienced the touchy screen, starting apps when I barely touch the icon (thought it was just me). I have done a factory reset on the phone already to see if that would cure battery life. Did not get better. Left house, 92%, car charged it up to 100%. Got to bar at 7:15, left at 11:30. Granted, I was on the phone reading news, playing WordFeud, reading Android Central. No video or music. I did download Soundhound. I had some conversations. Went down to under 15% when I left at 11:30. Drive in car 45 minutes home, and I am now plugged in by my bed at 25%, estimated time to charge 3 hours, 19mins. My G2 would be done on 1.5 hours (it seemed). Screen is off auto, been keeping it at 40%; turned it down to 30% while in the bar. Battery reports the screen was on for 4 hours, 18 minutes, was the primary use of my battery at 53; Android System is 15%. which sounds about right. I was on Wi-Fi at bar.I keep Bluetooth on, as well as location. Horrible for 3000 mAh battery, in my opinion. And careful with responses; I loved the Droid Eris when I had it, and an very use to dealing with the peculiarities off Android O/S on several manufacturers phone. My Samsung Fascinate had great battery life; until upgrade to Gingerbread killed that great battery life.
