LG G3: T-Mobile

I find it hilarous that everyone freaking out about a single GB of RAM of questionable utility, but no one cares about the missing LTE band that's supposed to be the future of T-Mobile's rural coverage. :)
We can only obsess about one thing at a time :p

I think it's because the people that do care will just purchase another phone or wait and Jump to it once released. Rural coverage, while nice, is not a deal breaker for a lot of folks.

Just finished pre-ordering mine.
Was either going for the G3 or Find 7, but LG and T-Mobile made my decision a lot easier this morning!
Paid a total of $673 with expedited shipping though.... not the cheapest of purchases.

Hopefully these ship sooner than the 15th!

So I just got the email saying my order has been processed. Delivery date estimate still says tomorrow? Is this possible, or just a little blunder by T-Mobile? I did pay for overnight shipping, and every date I've seen says tomorrow?

I will remain optimistic. lol

Quick question about the pre-order, can I just order the phone without selecting a data plan? Never pre-ordered a phone before. I have tried and they always want you to pick a plan.

Thanks for any info.

Well, I just re-thought my re-thinking of the G3 and then I pre-ordered it anyway. :) Guess if the T-Mobile coverage isn't sufficient I can just return it, if I stick with the AT&T network 850 MHz support is an absolute necessity, this is a rural area. On the other hand, I've got WiFi frigging everywhere for WiFi calling, and T-Mobile says they've deployed LTE here.

They're saying it's estimated to ship on the 2nd. I can always hope, right?

Where do you see a shipping date estimate?
I've only seen delivery date estimates, and they say tomorrow. But that's not going to happen since the order status still says 'invalid'.

Popped up when the order was placed. Doesn't show up anywhere else so it might just be calculated by standard processing time without factoring in pre- or back-orders.

Just got my backorder text and email this morning. Well... two weeks to go... :(

Can I expect the full retail price be the same at Verizon as I see it on T-Mobile?

Doubt it. Verizon prefers to "encourage" people to sign a contract instead. ;) How does one do that? By inflating the retail price so people go with the contract instead. I bet AT&T ends up doing the same thing.

Frankly when you look at the GS4 and M8, T-Mobile's LG G3 pricing undercuts both. With more RAM, equal or better storage, and a larger, higher resolution screen. That frankly gives other carriers room to inflate the price if they want to, and it wouldn't surprise me if some do, at least initially.

I don't understand the big obsession with pre orders. I mean it's not like this is the iPhone. I remember everyone getting all crazy wrapped up with pre orders last year for the Note 3 and I just walked in the day it dropped and walked out phone in hand in 20 minutes later. Am I missing something?

We just like to get excited about things :)

You honestly never know which stores are going to be sold out though so it's better to have a pre-order in place so you know you definitely get one.

When I used to have iPhone and was getting the iPhone 4 I did the same thing... So your iPhone analogy doesn't work in my eyes :D.

I'm holding onto the hope that T-Mobile might ship the phones out sooner than the July 16th street date.

I actually hope you're right. I preordered this morning and then I check the status and it says delivery on July 5th. Well I'm going to be out of town next week so I freaked out. TMo couldn't give me an update on the real delivery date since it's still "processing". The ONE time I don't want the phone right away it would figure it comes early.

I didn't specify which iPhone... I got an iPhone 4 no problem on launch day as well but Apple historically has not been able to keep up with demand on launches. I have friends who weren't able to get their iPhone 5's until a few weeks after launch and that's just ridiculous. You almost have to Pre-order or you run a big chance of being left out. But I figure since the G3 is pretty much a niche Device I should have no problem on launch day. There was more hype with the Galaxy Note 3, and that was an easy get. But hey, more power to those who do Pre-order. And if you get it sooner, than it would definitely be worth it!

I'm really worried. I've been trying to get in since May 31st and tried at least every hour. Error every time. Called support three times only to be given "With preorders we cant help over the phone use the website to place the order" finally yesterday I got it working and what do ya know. I got a backorder notice. Bull****. I'm so pissed and I'm not even sure what to do. Ugh.

I was in the same boat. Tried multiple times since Monday, finally got in yesterday, placed the pre-order, ended up getting a call later in the day from my credit card provider letting me know there was some suspicious activity on my card and it had been frozen for the time being. Called T-Mobile back this morning to attempt to update the card on file, told me they couldn't do anything until the transaction processed and was declined - at that point their system would allow them to modify the order to a different card.

I asked the support rep about the status of the backorder, and she said that it's how their system works. Preorder devices get listed as "backordered" because that's just how their system lists preorder devices. It'll stay that way until the device ships.
