It more an issue of white balance and then brightness. Brightness can be turned up to compensate a bit. I'd say G2 70% = G3 80%, but the G2 has a vary neutral white to my eyes and the G3 I looked at was sort of yellow/greyish in comparison. If you didn't hold the two together, you probably wouldn't notice that much. Also different G3 individual phones may be better or worse. iphones are like that.

I'd have to see it in person. It looks blacker at the bottom, but you would have to compare it in person I think. If you happen to see a T-mobil or ATT model before release day, please let us know if it is different.

So we waited almost 6 weeks since the phone announced for Verizon tell us when we can get it. AT&T, Sprint and TMO are getting their this week. What are the odds Verizon ships units ahead of the 17th?

There are throttle dynamics going on with the display and part of that is less than white, "whites". The brighter the display, the more throttling and less battery life. Next gen panels will be easier on battery.

Verizon Preorder and shipping

Does anyone know when the phone will actually start shipping from Verizon. I placed order yesterday am and it is still processing. Someone else said they got FedEx tracking number.

I think the g3 will be my next phone. You waited too long to release the z2 on verizon sony. Now to decide on white or black.

It's really hard to say as some may get it early but most will get it by the 17th. Hope for early .

I originally thought I would get next Thursday but a Verizon rep said it was in stock at warehouse and would ship today. I did not however get any shipping info and it is still processing. Did anyone get tracking numbers

Well it does not charge on any QI pads I have tried and when I looked and overlooked our websites spec page it does not list it as Wireless charging capable, as a feature. So I do not think it is built in this time like the previously G2 sorry. It was previously listed under the "Communication" area and it is not there on the G3. Trust me I tried nearly 4 different pads HOPING it was built in.

Probably will not be anything leaving the warehouse until Monday at the soonest being it is a "Ship by date" of July 17th when you pre-order.

When I click on the "Check Your Order Status" link on my order confirmation email, I see that it shipped on the 10th. But when I click through on the tracking number the fedex site tells me its an invalid tracking number. Also I have not received a shipped email from Verizon, my guess is that it really hasn't shipped yet.

In my experience that is a pre-ship info..sadly I do not like all our sytems but it meerly means you placed an order. Hence why your tracking # does not work because nothing has actually shipped.

The "tracking number" is (everywhere I've seen, including my own) simply the public IP address of the computer you used to place the order. Probably best to just wait for the email.*

* Of course, I'm checking my order status at least every 2 hours.

I had a Moto X ship using FedEx a couple months ago, got confirmation it shipped went to check the tracking number and nothing showed up. A couple days later it was on my door stop. A lot of time devices do actually ship it just never updates on the website for some reason.
