LG G3: Verizon

Probably will be in line with the S5 and M8 - I would expect the $29.99 monthly charge. If you have a certain level of data, you get a credit each month. I get a $25 credit as I carry above 10gb - if below the 10gb plan I think it's like $15 a month. So in reality, the device would cost me 4.99 a month.

Look for pre-orders to start on the 10th.

is the upgrade price $199 as usual?

The heat issue is due to current display techs being inefficient with Qhd. Second generation Qhd panels next year should be as efficient as 1080p this year.

Hoping they announce soon, waiting to pick up a case and screen protector. Just want to make sure it's the 3/32 version.

At least (so far) it looks like Verizon won't screw up the back buttons by going flatter and smaller than all other versions. I think Verizon will carry both versions at launch - the 16GB/2GB model @ $199, and the 32 GB/3GB model @ $249 (although I could see it going to Note Territory @ $299 at launch). I bought the 32 GB GS3 at launch and it is still a very capable phone 2 years later with 2 GB RAM, dual core Snapdragon, and 720P display. I believe buying the higher storage model will aid its longevity and may make it slightly faster by keeping more apps in RAM.

Seeing as the other carriers are only getting one, I am going to say it is going to be like the g2 and all carriers get same version (minus the wireless charging built in like verizon had) no way verizon gets the 16/2gb and sells it at same price as other carriers with 32gb/3gb

Well it appears to be an LG thing because heat was an issue with the g2 as well.

Called Northeast VZW President and Laid Down the Law.

40 or so phone hours to customer service, multiple store visits, Samsung corporate inspecting my phone, finally got resolution. When the 3GB RAM / 32GB flash memory G3 is released, Verizon is absorbing the cost of the full retail amount and I have no contract extension liability.

If Verizon would just announce it already. The lady who works for the Northeast President said pre-orders begin 7/10. That's all I know.

I was looking at the Spigen case, what's your thoughts on them? Anyone have experience with the Verus Thor case?

I got the G2 on release date. Went on Verizon site and found that they are listing me month to month and eligible for discount upgrade. Pleasant surprise. Now I have to decide if I want to update or not.

I will be pre-ordering this device tomorrow. Full price because I want to keep my UDP.

Re: Release date?!?!

If you're happy with the G2, you should stay with it for a while, at least. You should wait until more reviews are out and until it has been out for a few weeks. This should help you get an idea of how battery life is, as well as how it compares to the G2. There will probably be numerous in-depth comparisons not long after the G3's release.

However, you could always order one and test it for yourself. Most carriers will give you 14 days to return it. If you like it, you can always sell the G2 to help pay for the G3!

So, I'm pretty happy now with my G2 and was pretty much off the G3. But now the current rumor, we'll find out tomorrow, is that VZW will offer it at a 50% discount. That's as good as a BOGO. Now I'm thinking about getting one again. Back and forth. Back and forth...
