LG G3: Verizon

Re: Release date?!?!

I saw the same thing. I don't know if I can wait any longer. I might be going to the G2 and then move tot he G3 after it's been out a while. I really need to loose this POS M8.

Perhaps to get poor saps like us excited and to talk about it more which will spread the word and be good advertising. Here in the UK, I could order one from Three and get it the 26th. The 26th...next Thursday! £499/$840 sim free. Or from Carphone Warehouse, probably 1st July, £479/$812 sim free. Now it's getting close, I'm actually feeling a bit SCARED after all these weeks of anticipation.

Been reading about this exclusivity on a few sites tonight. If only Tmo gets the 3/32 at the US launch, this phone will be poised to fail miserably. Even if they wait another month to release it everywhere else, it will likely give Moto, and Sammy time to drop their newest phones. This really could be a colossal mistake.

I think the carriers are banking on price point and would push more sales and then more people buying high profit margin, over priced accessories like the wireless charger. Hopefully sales ARE hurt and the carriers stop the spec low balling. That said, if customers buy them and meet their forecast for sales, the carriers will keep doing it.

They could at least offer two model sizes at two prices, but do not bother anymore.

Hopefully just all rumors and 3/32 is offered by carriers beyond Tmo, but Tmo is touting while other carriers create doubting. They usually delay announcements if lower spec until just before release. Less time for the media to nitpick the lower specs. Consumers in general are oblivious, but marketing at the carriers prefer waiting unless equal or better specs.

Perhaps the only 3/32 the other carriers will have is the Prime model. Would be easier to justify to customers when the better model comes out a month later. I couldnt imagine buying a 32gb g3 in July if the Prime were to come out within a month or two.

Not a fan of the size (IE the actual size with the external speakers is what I'm not a fan of) and IMO the camera is not worthy of a phone that is supposed to be the best in the HTC lineup. Also, with this being my second M8 as the first one had problems, neither M8 has been up to the task with internet speeds. I've put it up against the G2 and the G2 blows the M8 out of the water Internet speed wise.

Sorry to hear. Just wanted to know since the M8 is glorified around here and labeled the best android phone you can get so far.

this is the exact thing that has kept me from getting this phone. I really wanted to like the M8. I especially like the front facing speakers but the camera and the proportion (length vs. width) has kept me from getting it. I was hoping for the prime but it seems they have canceled that so now I am looking at the LG g3.

The G3 is going to be about the same size as the M8. The M8 fits nicely in the hand, but it is a little tall compared to most phones.

The camera is pretty good. The only downside is the spatial resolution. 4 MP is fine for social media, and it is one of the best social media cameras. But if you like to print or crop your pictures, it probably isn't the camera for you.

It is still a great phone, and one of my favorites. The radio issues I have seen have mostly been on Verizon.

The M8 I had never had any signal issues, and data speeds were superb.

Re: Release date?!?!

Anti climactic if the 2/16 models are the main offering from carriers. A lot about nothing if so.

Kitkat killing card writes for most apps and ART with 5.0 is not a good combo for 10gb of app storage unless light to medium app user.

Re: Release date?!?!

On the ATT site, the G3's date widget says Friday August 8th. I'm really hoping that's not indicative of the release date, but the fact they still haven't said a word is not encouraging.

With the Note 4 coming end of September early October, that would be a complete fail for LG.

Re: Release date?!?!

Please be a 32gb version on AT&T...or else I may just wait for the Note4.
