LG G3: Verizon

Well I have seen some other people posting about Verizon reps saying the same thing. I don't know, and I guess we won't know until we get our hands on the phones. I am going into Verizon to preorder today, I hope they have a floor model I can check out.

If you go to Verizon G3's page, scroll down and click on the 'In The Box' link, it just list this for the battery "Lithium Ion Battery (3000 mAH)" where as on the Droid Maxx, HTC Ones 'In The Box' pages it list "Non–removable...." for battery.

The battery is removable. If you download digital manual on the Verizon website, it shows how to remove and install the battery.

If anyone can get their hand on a G3 at the store please see if the back has the Qi receiver card on it. I looked through the verizon G3 manual and saw this on page 230: http://cache.vzw.com/multimedia/mim/lg-g3/smart-lg-g3-ug.pdf

"Instructions for Wireless Charger
Be sure to use a wireless charger that is genuine or compatibilitycertified
(by WPC Qi standards).
(Wireless charger is sold separately.)"

LG G3 Verizon pre order.

Hi, I pre ordered a LG G3 this morning online and ship date is 07/17/14. Does anyone know if there is possibility it will ship sooner or is this the actual date it will be released to Verizon customers.

Think i'm going to wait and see how you guys like it, I'm on a Note 3 right now, and I am liking it, but the biggest problem is signal, keep dropping to 3G a lot (had a replacement device sent and same). Kind of want to get away from Samsung...Would be paying full retail price for it as I just bought the Note 3 in February

Its possible as this has happened before, but I wouldn't bet on it. Gotta wait and see.

Re: LG G3 Verizon pre order.

I asked a Verizon rep to look into the battery. She found out that "non-removable" is a typo, and the Verizon G3 will in fact have the same removable battery that all of the other carriers' versions have. They will be correcting the specs on the site.

Re: LG G3 Verizon pre order.

I walked into my local Authorized Verizon store...

Verizon Rep.: May I help you?
Me: Yes, I would like to order the LG G3.
Verizon Rep: What's that?
Me: A phone
Verizon Rep: Why do you want that phone?
Me: I think I'll order online.
Verizon Rep.: Anything else I can do for you?
Me: No
Verizon Rep: Thanks have a good day.

It is really sad when an Authorized Rep does not even know his product.

Is there a way to pre-order it online without choosing a plan? I can't seem to do this without choosing a plan and I want to buy it full price to keep my UDP.

They make you select a plan. If you're on ULD, then you don't want to upgrade, you want to either purchase at full price, or add a new line.

If you add a new line, you have to keep it active for 2 years, but you can keep it active at $9.99 + fees (it comes out to around $16 per month) each month and you don't have to have a phone on the line nor do you have to keep the data on the line. In the end, though, you end up paying more than if you just paid for the entire phone.

Now if you have someone that needs a cellphone, then you can activate a dumb phone on the additional line, but you have to have a dumb phone laying around, or pick one up off Swappa. If you activate a smartphone, then it'll cost you and additional $30 per month for the cheapest 2GB data plan on top of the $9.99 per month.

In the end, you are better off paying full price for the device. I don't know if the 50% off counts towards someone paying full price. Also, I don't know if you can pre-order one at full price. You'd have to give them a call and ask them.

Verizon Pre-order

Just put in the pre-order, now the anxiety and anticipation really begins! Please post here when your G3 arrives! I am hoping the shipments go out earlier than the stated date of the 17th. So, please let us know when it is in your hands!!!

Re: Verizon Pre-order

When I was pre-ordering, there was a bunch of red text at the bottom of the confirmation page that said this order is expected to ship two days prior to the pre-order date. I have no clue, but lets hope. I'm not making that up in case anyone is wondering. And no I can't post proof either because it was before the order was finished.

But put it like this, I'd just be lying to myself if I made it up lol.

Re: Verizon Pre-order

Nope. I saw the same thing that it should ship 2 days prior to the 17th meaning we should get it by the 17th. At least I'm planning on taking that day off.

I just spoke to a sales rep and he said that wireless charging is built in. I really hope this is correct!

Re: Verizon Pre-order

I did the pre-order this morning and I saw the same thing about it shipping 2 days before the preorder date. Hopefully it will come earlier. That would be great.

I pre-ordered too. They will ship on the 17th according to Verizon Northeast Executive Office.

Thanks for that, I was wondering if they would include the wireless charger or cripple it like they did with the Note 2. Still trying to decide if it will be worth the upgrade and kit kat woes.

I choose full price and it still made me choose a plan. Kinda crappy but I guess I'll wait until it comes into the stores.

Went to my local Best Buy, they did not have any display units out but the gal grabbed a black AT&T unit from the back so I could see what it looked and felt like.....wow! With all the hype I thought I would be disappointed, I wasn't. Only wish I could have turned it on.

Re: Verizon Pre-order

What color are you all pre-ordering? The color choices are different for Verizon. From what I can see the white version is the same across all carriers. I'm not sure how I feel about the black Verizon color. I wish they didn't add the Verizon badge on the face
