I ordered the G3 last Saturday...and the wait for delivery is killing me. I chose the black version, although I would hardly call it "black". The display model I played with in the store was very "gun metal gray" and looked fabulous. Based on what I saw on the Verizon site I thought their black version was going to be shiny and glossy black...but the display one was gun metal gray to me. The sales lady that helped said that's how the black ones are and she didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I asked about the shiny black one showing up on the Verizon site etc.

Everything I was told is that we will get it on the 17th...

I've decided I'm getting this. Is there any point in preordering it anymore or should I just go pick one up in store on Thursday?

If it was me, I'd just go get it on launch day now. The only reason I pre-ordered was because I had to swap my upgrade to a different device to save my Unlimited Data. If I was going to just do a normal upgrade, or buy it at full price, I would have gone to the store on launch day.

Don't worry, it also says black for my Sprint version but its def a gunmetal color. Congrats and enjoy your new device!

I went with the black as well. Talked to Verizon and they said the phone will ship on the 17th and be at my house on the 18th. Can't wait for Friday

Can you comment on the front of the device as well? I went with the white because the pictures on Verizon looked so Black, including the strip on the bottom of the front of the device. Is that strip also the gun metal grey color with a metallic look, or is it a solid black as its shown on the site?

I saw it at my local Verizon store. The front of the device is all black. It is a solid black like the Verizon G2. The back of each the white and the black have that metallic look to them. I thought the black front made it look much cheaper than the white.

Thanks, that is what I was afraid of, not sure why they made the decision to remove the metallic strip at the bottom and go with the solid black. I am OK with the logo, but the bottom strip was one of the unique style features of the phone, strange that they removed it.

I paid them the edge up difference on the 10th. He kept saying 2 day shipping and I said I thought it was over night. He said no. Then I had contacted Verizon a few different times during the week about the shipping to make sure and they said it's over night and will be here on Friday. Now saying next week. I'm not taking any chances. Going to Verizon store Thursday as soon as they open

For anyone who pre-ordered it. I would call Verizon ASAP and ask them when you will be getting it or when it ships. I'm being told mine won't ship til Thursday and it won't be here until next Monday or Tuesday. I'm not waiting that long and also I won't even be at home. Let me know what you all hear

I am trying to avoid paying tax on this as much as possible. If I order online I think it will be 2-day shipping without tax (I believe). If I get it in the store, will the $99.99 be taxed? (Yes, I am a lowlife citizen.)

I pre-ordered for my GF last week.. If the device does not show up tomorrow we are cancelling the pre-order and will be going in Thursday morning to purchase the phone from the store. Why would anyone pre-order a device to receive it days later than it's launch? I haven't been a big fan of Verizon the few times i've had to deal with them for her. I'm an ATT user.

Exactly Tony. Why would I preorder it only to get it 5 days after it is in stores. I will just go to the Verizon corporate store in Lansing right as they open on Thursday and buy it then.

I'll be honest...the back had my attention the most. The store was busy so I was trying to get a good hands on with the phone so I could move along. I honestly do not remember there being any difference in the front or back of the phone. Both my wife and I really liked the look of it and didn't notice any problems. My wife ordered the white version just because she always loves white phones.

I'll be honest...the back had my attention the most. The store was busy so I was trying to get a good hands on with the phone so I could move along. I honestly do not remember there being any difference in the front or back of the phone. Both my wife and I really liked the look of it and didn't notice any problems. My wife ordered the white version just because she always loves white phones.

I just did the live chat on Verizon's website and she said she didn't know when they were shipping but that they should arrive on the 17th.

My order status online has changed today from "pre-order" with a random tracking number to "Order Processing." To me this says they are getting ready to ship it. I do not trust anything the phone reps are telling me. My son used to work in a Sprint Call Center and they are often the LAST to know what is going on in the sales/warehouse. Last week when I pre-ordered mine I spoke to at least three phone reps who all had different information on order availability, shipping dates, and in-store availability. One phone rep even told me he didn't know of a "new LG model being released." I will not believe anything until I have a FedEx tracking number and it shows in the FedEx system, which I'm hoping will be later today. IF what I've learned to expect plays out, it will ship today as 2-day FedEx and arrive Thursday, the same as availability date. I'm just disappointed that the other carriers went ahead and released the device early, but Verizon didn't. Guess they needed all that extra time to get those logos stamped on the front. ;-) BTW, I ordered white because I wanted gunmetal grey but online showed shiny black... if in fact they are gunmetal on front AND back, and not the shiny black as shown online, I may go trade my white one in. If the front and back don't match, or the color is really shiny black, I'll keep my white one. I'm going to put it in a case anyway.

So I ordered mine, on 7/10, in the same order my mom made, she got a S5, and I got a shipping confirmation email today but it was just for her phone, no mention of my phone being shipped. Should I contact Verizon about this?

Spoke with two VZW reps who said my phone was shipped today and being delivered tomorrow. I ordered on the 10th around 8 am.
