LG G3: Verizon

I saw a video online showing how to tweet the brightness/contrast somewhat in the accessibility settingrhttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/23/basa4e6u.jpg

Yes, I know about that. I did adjust my screen with it but I know my brother hasn't. Wonder if the adjustment has made my screen slightly dimmer in the process?! I think it mostly affects the color contrast, not the actual brightness of the screen. Anyone know for sure?

My personal opinion? You need to pony up the extra $30 per month for the hotspot. FoxFi is great for those who only need a hotspot every now and then, but your abusing the system and costing everyone else. It's FoxFi and other rooted tethering users that pushed all the cellphone companies to switch to this tethered plan crap and do away with our unlimited data.

Like I said, my opinion. Feel free to slam me now, but you need to pay the monthly charge! I'm paying $30 per month for 2 devices and I'm around 40-50GBs per month.

Sorry Scott, the argument doesn't hold up. In fact your argument fails so strongly that the FCC ruled on this issue and fined VZN a meager $1.25mil, that carriers cannot interfere with or block customers from using their mobile devices. So really what you're paying for is data that you already have. What if you were to pay for using the GPS function on your phone a la carte or any other feature. Want Bluetooth? No problem! For just $1.99 extra per month we'll go ahead and activate it on your phone!

On the contrary what VZN is doing is making you pay for the very data that you're already paying for...a second time. Now if it was an app that they charged me for $30 one time...no problem, happy to invest in it just as I did when I purchased FoxFi and previously SVTP on my Gnex. But your logic...is actually not logical at all. In fact if you look around the world, we're the ONLY country to have such restrictions as having to pay an extra $360 per year to use the very data that's already on our phone!

Check the facts my friend before you go ponying up the extra cash. Oh and the reason that VZN can't block the access? Well that was part of the deal to which Verizon and others actually agreed to as part of getting additional bandwidth on the spectrum. Remember that whole thing of some frequencies coming up for sale and the deal they struck? I'm guessing that might have slipped your mind somewhere down the line as time has passed :)

So has anyone figured out how to get into the hidden service menu on tge verizon g3 yet? I am curious to see if it has the option to disable the knock on feature like the at&t version

I am in it on Verizon and the option is not listed.

No idea what they are asking. Swappa's simple. Just buy a device, stick in your SIM card and away you go. No activation required. I've bought and sold several devices on Swappa this year.
I used swappa for the first time yesterday. Sold my iPhone in about 2 hours. So much easier than eBAy and a ton less fees. Took a while to get the courage to use swappa but after seeing numerous positive reviews I took the plunge.

Use Nero Back it Up - Free App with 5 GB of online storage - more than enough for SMS, Phone logs, contacts and pictures if you don't have too many. Not really enough for Videos.

Yes, you are correct, but so am I. The ruling decision was the reason cellphone providers moved away from unlimited data and went with the new tiered structure. In my opinion, had the original users paid the extra cash, instead of suing, then we would still have unlimited data today. I do know the published facts of the case. Here's Zdnet's take on the case. http://www.zdnet.com/let-my-wi-fi-go-fcc-rules-verizon-cant-charge-for-wi-fi-tethering-7000001916/ I'd rather pay $60 per month and have unlimited data and the mobile hotspot, then have a mobile hotspot and be tiered. Today's Verizon 10GB tiered plan, which is 20% of my data that I use, is around $80 per month, then I'd have to pay my overages. Why not just pay the original $60 per month that was initially being charged?

So IMO (In My Opinion), you're thinking is flawed.

deleted extra empty home screens, reduced animations, and removed the smart bulletin. now no stutter.

anyone now how to separate notification sounds for different apps. want a sound for gmail and text but not one for corporate email. vibrate for all.

all I can see is one global notification volume.

I can specify the sound file for corporate email but there is no option for silent.

Let my Wi-Fi go: FCC rules Verizon can't charge for Wi-Fi tethering | ZDNet I'd rather pay $60 per month and have unlimited data and the mobile hotspot, then have a mobile hotspot and be tiered. Sorry Scotty, still a no go. Their goal is two fold...maximize the controls over the devices on their network and make the maximum profit. The ruling against them took away part of their control (which they agreed to in the first place). Put it this way, even without the $30 per month...we have one of the highest rates for cellular in the world and we do not have the best data offering, quality or coverage. Not to mention I can get unlimited data there too for about what my current bill is here.

Again I get how your logic works...if you just give them more money then they will let us be. But that's not the case. Understand that the very link you sent me...your very point in the middle right there states that because Verizon was able to get additional bandwidth, they agreed to the FCC to a number of things under which this topic falls under. Your logic is sort of like seeing the parents have a fight and dad storms out of the house and then you say "oh man, it's our fault as the kids because we should have done more to make him happy". But that's not the case. I've worked long enough in this industry (Verizon corporate being one of them) to know exactly how it functions. What they want is control. Hence why you have a deregulated industry that also lacks equal competition. They fight every day not to provide service to you...but to control your service. I suggest you dive deeper into the very link that you posted and really truly read about not just cell phone companies, but other oligopolies such as the cable providers before suggesting that life would be different if we all just paid $30 a month.

Has anybody noticed a crackling in the earpiece when making calls? Almost sounds like white noise. Taking mine up to the store to be looked at.

I heard a very faint crackling noise on one phone call but none of my other ones. I couldn't tell if it was just poor reception or the phone, but so far the rest of my calls have been great.

Was finally able to check out the white g3 and compare it to the black one. Originally I was thinking I would go for white if i got a g3 but it just does not look as good to me in person compared to pictures online. So black one it is if I end up getting a g3. The 50% sale is tempting me to pull tge trigger.

Just do it be brave my friend, boldly go where no man has ventured OK to far but I do recommend the G3 :-)

I actually thought the white one looked even better in person. I am partial to white though since I've only ever had black phones.
