New bug this week I would like to squash...its happened twice now that the vibration feature (haptic feedback included) will just stop working. I thought originally that the phone hardware went defective until after a restart it started working again. The spot I noticed it turning off is using the keyboard, specifically Swype...its got me wondered if that app is causing the issue and shutting down the vibration feature on the phone. I even turned it to the vibration mode profile and nothing when a call or text came through. Are any of you having this issue? How to fix for good?

Re: Vibration Randomly Stops Working

The exact same thing just started happening on my Nexus 5! About two days ago. Thank goodness - it must be due to some update. What a relief. :D

I noticed this the other day as well on my T-Mobile G3 and just like you my first thought was the phone was broken. Then I remembered the first rule of trouble shooting and restarted the phone. That brought back vibrations and so far (third day) it's still there. I'm guessing it's some bug related to the recent update as that's when it started on my device.

I think so too. Thank you for posting, and of course the OP! I was really worried my precious Nexus 5 might be starting to break down. So glad it isn't. Must be a Google app update causing this issue. Mine still hasn't lost vibration again yet, knock wood.

I went to Settings>sound>vibration type and just selected between the different ones available. The second I selected any that it wasn't set on, Normal, it instantly started to work. Even works now on the normal vibrate type. Hope this helps as restarting my phone multiple times and taking battery out while phone was on didn't resolve my issue. The above steps seemed to have got it back working like normal now.
