LG G4 Running out of storage mysteriously

Greetings everyone,
I'm using a memory card for my phone (128gb) that's mostly filled with music.
I started noticing the phone is running out of space, though I transferred each music I put on my phone to the memory card. The memory card has about 100gb of music. And it all works great and smoothly.
The only thing is now I go to settings->storage and see that on the phone's actual memory there's almost 14gb of music. When I tried to locate which of my music stayed on the phone's memory I couldn't find anything. There's some voice recordings and stuff but definitely not 14gb of it.
My question is, does the phone hold on to some of the music in it's memory for it to be easily reachable? cause otherwise I can't explain this and my memory is randomly running out.

Thank you

Do you use any of the music streaming services? They tend to hide their "save locally" files on the internal storage.

I'm not using any of them that's why I got the memory card. I'm listening to weird stuff that don't usually pop up over spotify. I checked maybe google drive is doing this but I took all the music out and nothing changed..
I thought it's the phone trying to make too much music still reachable but maybe I'm imagining.

Do you have Google Play Music installed? If so, open it, tap Menu>Settings, and Clear Cache. Also, tap Manage Downloads and see if there's any storage being used by Play Music. If any music shows up in that list as Downloaded, you can get rid of it there.

Thanks for your response.
I looked through google play music, there was no serious cache. And at manage downloads it just shows the data as is, so it says there's 96gb of music, and 16gb free, which is just my storage facts if you add the internal memory and sd card together. The problem is I prefer to keep the phone as empty as I can and just fill the card.
The music was downloaded manually from google drive. Nothing got to my phone through a service of any kind.

Thanks for your help

When you go to Settings>Storage and tap Music, does it give you any more breakdown?

There's internal and sd of course. It says 13.9gb are kept in internal storage. If I press on that it gets me to the music app.
Although I manually transferred each of my downloads to the sd card. And I looked through the File Manager and couldn't find any visible heavy folder.
As you may have guessed, the only problem with this ghost storage is that it slows down my phone. Not that much though, still smooth and useful. Just battery runs out faster.

Great! But don't leave us hangin' -- what was taking up that space?:)

Alright! it was a recording app that I had and didn't think it holds more than half a gb. Turns out I never cleaned that one up.
Your diskusage app suggestion was much clearer than the settings of course, and clearly implied which music files take too much space.
being a musician I record lots of hour long sessions, lessons, shows. I just innocently thought it holds less space and wouldn't get to 14gb. Very simple answer in the end. Thanks for your help and suggestions.
