LG G4 stock photo editor issue after 6.0 update

Dear all,
I have my LG G4 H818p, no roots or anything.
upgraded to Marshmellow, and the stock photo editor was not working
it edits the photo but its not saving it.
so i searched a bit and found that this is happening because the google photos app is not installed after the update and it will link itself to the stock edit tool inside the photo gallery.
so, that actually happened, but the old stock photo editor was a superb tool to be honest, the new one is really limited compared to what i had.
any ideas how to get the old stock editor?

I have a workaround to get the editor back

Uninstall Photos app.

Open settings>apps>all>Google+ app. storage / Clear cache, then disable which will uninstall updates. Go to play store and enable/ update Google+ again.

Should bring back the editor, but you can't install the photo app again or it's lost again.

photos are still backed up to google photos

However, I am unable to save photos now using the LG editor so im thinking this is to do with Google photos not being installed

Hi, I have the same problem too and i tried the method above but end up i couldn't edit my photos at all. Is there any other way? The LG G4 photo editor is still my favourite.

Exactly my problem. The "workaround" works but the new editor is really poor compared to stock. Have you found a solution you want to share?
