LG G5 AUX Static

I am experiencing this weird audio problem with my device. I bought the LG G5 yesterday and was wondering if anyone hears a loud static when plugging your phone to your car audio via AUX. I ruled out the cables with works fine on other devices in my house. I plugged in a pair of headphones directly into the phone and no static. I even plugged in a mp3 player in my car to see if the deck was going bad, and no static. Only when I plug in my phone I hear a loud static. Anyone else tried this out?

so the issues is if you have it charging your phone it will make the static but if you take it off the charger it will go away

Just found that using a normal headphone splitter seems to fix the problem for me. A pretty good and easy fix whilst waiting (im) patiently for the update!

I'm having the exact same problem too! Had no issue with my Moto X yesterday, but now I receive the same fuzzy static sound using the same cable with my LG G5. No issue with my Scull Candy headphones, just the auxiliary cable in my car.

I recently just bought the G5 and I Am having the same issue if you notice the aux on the headphones that works fine they have 3 lines of contacts instead of 2... You will need to get a "high quality aux cable" in order for you phone to work.. Hope this work for you since it did for me.

I think it's something not communicating correctly between the car and the phone. All aux cables work fine in my 2006 Scion and my wife's 2008 Volvo S40. But in a (rental) 2015 Dodge Dart, not so much.

guys. maybe we can all go one step further and..... post on here what happens when you call lg? do they accept this problem? have they been replacing your phones? this is a huge problem on the lg g5 phones in australia as well. its suchhhhhh a shame as its a great phone overall. (aside from photos being a tad over exposed in outdoors auto)

what now?
i want to know if u are getting the ph9nes replaced or repaired and does lg accepy this is a problem for many?

Dude, there's a post above that says LG is already working on it. Also, there's people having the same issue with the GS7. It's not just LG.

I would guess it's the Snapdragon 820, but it's just a guess.

"dude" ------ lg is not goito do anything just cause one or 2 people have "already" lodged a complaint with them.

so - that is why i am writing in my comments - for more people to lodge the complaint rather than just talking about it online.

i just called them and they say they know nothing about it.

so, once again, nothing will be done as not enough people call and complain about it.

they also said no intention of a software update.

Again, the GS7 is having the same issue. If it's a problem, they're working on it. Perhaps the G5 isn't a good fit for you. Sorry about your experience with your device. Saluti.

I find that carriers and manufacturers rarely know anything about problems that are widely reported on the net and just a search engine away.

I've had an S3, Nexus 5, G3 and now my G5. All have issues with static in the car stereo when both the AUX and the charger are both plugged in. I remember someone telling me it has something to do with how the car manufacturer runs the grounding loop on the input(s) in the car to the radio. I could be wrong.

how would u know if they are working on it.

are.u some sort of representaive.

they are not working on it. hence this thread. i called them agao 2 days ago and they said they have not had any reports of this so called issue.

the samenissues hundred of others are clearlybhaving asnper this thread.

so again... there is nothing wrong with me urging people to email or call them to lodge the problem.

not to mention. they have not dont any software updates yet so thats bad form.

the phone is for me. i never said it wasnt. just a bad flaw that no one enjoys hearing static on audio.

Okay, I'm confused. What this thread title suggests is you're talking about the auxiliary port for a car stereo. I've experienced this problem. It's not an LG thing, as I said. It's an Android/stereo communication thing. That's not on LG. That's on Google/car manufacturers and third party stereos not being on the same page. Other devices (not manufactured by LG) have had this problem.

Then you come back with another post saying it's speaker phone static. That sounds like something else. Perhaps you bought a bad unit?

Again, sorry about your experience. Also, I'm sorry I couldn't help.

How badly do they WANT to know?

Guys, I've had this issue in every car I've owned as I've installed the same head unit each time. Maybe I just suck at it ;). But anyway, I finally found a solution and I really hope it helps.

It's caused by a grounding loop. I noticed the problem was a lot more common when my phone was charging, too. I got a tiny little ground loop noise isolator. It's only $9, worth a shot- it completely solved the issue for me

Fellas, new to this forum, and new to Android (coming from iOS.) As you can tell, I bought this phone, and here I am cause I was having this issue. But i found something interesting. When I plug SILVER plated aux cable, I hear thE hiss/static sound; the higher i turn the volume up, the louder the hiss sounds. Being mad already( not getting LTE speeds or the LTE icon -- H icon). I was about to call Amazon and return this after one day. Anywho, i plugged in an Aux cable with GOLD plating, and the problem disappeared. Disconnected it again, and plugged in the silver plating cable and hiss/noise came back on. Re plugged the gold aux cable and no problem whatsoever.
