LG G5 Lock Screen Notification Problems

Not sure they ever worked, as the phone went straight to Nougat update upon connecting it to WiFi, but I am not getting lock screen notifications, nor LED, when texts come through. I've troubleshooted to death to no avail.

Yes, I've checked everything. The notifications work when I install a separate app, but I'm a minimalist at my core, and believe that such a simple feature should work without the need to install a separate app.
