LG G6 Preoder / shipping thread!

Indeed and considering my weekends start on Thursdays so I have all day tomorrow to play with it lol
I bet you'll be checking and refreshing your tracking number every 15 minutes or at the very least be sitting by your front window for your carrier's truck to pull up all day !!!!!!!

lmao, no lie Ive refreshed the ups screen at least 10 times waiting for it to go from "processed" to "in transit". Thats when things get real is when you see that "in transit" bar lol.

Honestly I shouldnt have preordered it after the Note 7 and s7 Active debacle. I swore Id never buy a first run again, yet here I am.

Sorry but I beg to differ ........ in my humble opinion things get REAL when you refresh while enjoying your morning coffee and see the update of ....... " out for delivery " haaaa !!!

As the delivery guy is walking up your walkway you'll be running out of the house saying this ............

Yeah sadly Verizon is to the T.. What they say is what will happen. It can be a blessing but also suck at times. T-Mobile usually tries to ship early.

Why are they so tight with that? Makes no sense. If it's ready, ship it. Reward the preorder customers maybe? Sheesh. I.may jump to The Mobile, but my wife reads how much the service sucks in our area and would kill me. Ugh.

Well I guess it's a good thing I had terrible customer service from T-Mobile yesterday? Because of that the rep credited back overnight shipping but even though I ordered a couple hours before the overnight shipping cut off time, they still didn't bother to ship the phone. At 5am this morning the label was finally created and UPS says Monday for delivery. I'd be really ticked off if I paid $27 to get the phone next week.

Now the question is... Will I even accept delivery? And if I do, will the box get opened? And if that happens, will the G6 make it 14 days?

Some decent early reviews from users but also some not so great.

Every phone has people who like it and those that don't. There is even someone complaining about the "small" screen size "doesn't feel like a 5.7 phone" when it's been mentioned in a lot of the reviews that a 5.7 inch diag phone with a 18:9 aspect ratio has less total screen area than a 5.7 inch diag phone with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Fact is the total square screen size is like a 5.2 or 5.5 phone with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Of course. I'm not worried about the screen size as I've understood the dimensions ever since the rumors about it started floating around. I know it's going to look and feel smaller than the V20.

I'm more concerned about the reports of lag and performance that I'm seeing on XDA and still wondering about the camera and if LG was able to optimize the software to get better results in full auto than the V20. The camera is my main source of frustration in the V20. The Note 7 (RIP) destroyed the V20 in full auto.

It's just how they are. T-Mobile just doesn't follow the schedule.

I personally wouldn't chose a carrier on how fast they ship a phone though .. but that's just me :P.

Why even order a phone if you aren't going to open it? You really trust others opinions (on reviews) that much ?

I don't really listen to any reviews from people I don't know, professional or regular user.

However, there are several users that are LG fans like I am that I have seen around multiple forums since I had the G2 so I trust their feedback on devices, especially if they are being critical of the device.

If I don't open it, then I shouldn't get hit with a restocking fee.

And most of my frustration with this is strictly aimed at T-Mobile. The poor customer service yesterday wasn't my only bad experience in the last month.

I was offered 'special pricing' by Tforce to switch to T-Mobile One All-In from my SC 10gb plan when they announced the HD and Hotspot change back in February. This was noted in my account by the rep and verified by multiple other reps. Well when March rolled around for my new billing cycle and my plan to kick over, once I got my bill, the 'special pricing' was not active. I contacted Tforce about it and was told I was 'misinformed' and they couldn't honor the special pricing. This rep was helpful, took it to their supervisors but they had no way to honor the price in the system. Or that's what I was told. Now, they did offer me a fairly sizable one time credit for my inconvenience but that only goes so far. What they call misinformation, I call a flat out lie.

Ah okay that makes more sense now that I know more of the back story :).

Yeah -- T-Mobile is great when it comes to getting phones and their regular prices are usually great... It is just the issue with the special things (like you mention above). I have run into issues before where I was promised stuff but didn't get it or I had to really fight for it. My friend had to fight for over 4-5 months to get his free iPhone credits on his bill after he traded in his old one. It angered me he even had to go through it since it was a promo they offered so why was it so hard to get it right? Made no sense.

Their day to day is good .. Just the promo / special stuff can get hairy and require more leg work than it should from the customer (in my opinion). I will say I am glad they didn't charge me for my cell booster when I left. They gave me time to give it back but then quoted a way earlier time (less than week) that I had to send it back by.. When I was going on the 30 days they gave me .. Luckily the last bill came and they didn't charge me extra for it so saved me multiple phone calls (most likely).

That is too bad. I usually have the complete opposite issues with tmobile. The store reps have given me misinformation and even had them add jod numerous times without asking or saying anything about it. Tmobile drives me a little crazy with all the changes every other month with plans and different pricing, it just creates these kind of issues to long time customers.

Happens with all companies unfortunately. I have T-Mobile for my business account and At&t for personal. When I signed up for At&t's unlimited last month they told me I would get my 21% discount and my 4th line would be free. Got the bill this month and what should have been $165-170 is $256. I lost my discount, and Im paying for my 4th line. I switched my Verizon business account to T-Mobile just over a month ago because my Verizon bill was $60 higher than what we were told it would be when we switched to them.

As for the reviews on this phone, none of them are worth anything. They are either pre-production units or someone has had the phone for less than 24 hours. We all know it takes a few days for a phone to settle down and show its true potential. I'd hold back my reservations until the end of next week when we will all know how its really performing.

Yeah, it's this type of stuff that triggered my switch away from Sprint 18 months ago after being with them for over 15 years. Sprint and T-Mobile have pretty equal service in my area so I've actually considered switching back but it's such a hassle with 6 lines and all the lines aren't in the same house. ATT and Verizon are good but I just can't justify the price.

Yep. Gotta go with works. Just always remember to look around and see what is out there. I never thought I could afford Verizon but due to some stuff happening in life w/ a buddy and the new unlimited plan.. and the fact I am MIL so can use that discount .. turns out I am paying less than I did on T-Mobile. My line costs me $36 a month (taxes and all) -- and we got 4 free phones (I got the G6 for free) :D.

Your mention of store reps reminded me of another issue. When I turned in my note 7 to one of my local stores and got my V20, I opened up my account a few days later and noticed insurance had been activated on my phone and it was timestamped about 4 hours after I left the store. I told the store rep flat out I didn't want it and didn't sign for it. So she added it after I left to boost her numbers. When I contacted Tforce about it, they removed it obviously but told me I could never add it back for this phone. I did I didn't approve for it to be added in the first place and they didn't really say much. Of course I didn't think much of until that story about bill cramming at T-Mobile popped up a couple weeks ago.
