LG G6 review

Nope. Higher resolution allows more text on the screen.

And the bottom of a 6 inch tall phone is out of view? Give me a break.

Your width argument is also grossly overstated. 16/100 of an inch wider is about 2 or 3 extra characters per row, if that. Hardly enough to make any difference on a full screen of text.

By the way, the LG G6 screen area is 12.90 square inch, while the S7 Edge screen area is 12.96 square inch...need I say more ? :)

Yep, you should remove the 'edge' portion from your screen measurements because it's not usable space to actually see text on the screen. Nice try though.

You have to factor in the on-screen buttons for the G6 which make the viewable space lower on the G6 than the specs would otherwise indicate.

Does the LGG6 have any chance in the market after en March when S8 launches? Can it actually make a dent with a good price versus no doubt expensive S8. Samsung has to reover heavy losses!

They have a better chance to capture some sales by launching before the S8. LG is never going to compete in sales numbers with Samsung and they know that.

When is LGG6 launched? Was thinking getting for my wife or wait till S8. But price of S will probably be way too high. Do we think that S8 is that mich better or is it their marketing machine so similar to Apple with iPhones.

G6 is launching in S Korea March 10 and other markets later most likely first week of April. Better is subjective, S8 will have the better and more recent processor (SD 835) and better screen but will also be expensive. It comes to pricing and if the difference in price matters is up to you. Initial hands on looks promising and G6 looks to be a great option if it's priced around $600.

I would think that anyone willing to drop the amount of money needed to buy a g6 would also know that the s8 is coming soon and would wait, if only to be able to compare both devices.

I would say easily over $500, haven't seen a flagship from a top brand under that in a long while. Also I think there will be fans of LG that will buy it because it is new, some hate Samsung and will buy this, also casuals that dont know much about phones will see it and probably like it.

Those of us in the tech world might wait but this isn't an iphone and must people don't wait for the next best thing, heck I had to tell a coworker last week not to buy an s7 edge, wait a month or so and either buy the s8 or they could find the s7 edge cheaper than.(though the s7 edge just got a discount)

Honestly I like the look of the G6, but software, camera, and older processor scare me away from it. Software also scares me on the s8 as well though. Both of these devices would be a lot better with stock android and these manufactures either just added their few things to the software or through the play store. But I have been saying that for years and only Motorola ever seemed to want to do that.

Yes but we all know this device will be closer to 650 USD than to 350. Let's not pretend.
I'm not pretending anything. Its just that I see this term flagship thrown around quite a bit and now flagship pricing. Who sets the standards for either one?

Why would they sell it for 350 when they can easily get 650?

Apple and Samsung. Market leaders drive the cost models

I'm not complaining about pricing or arguing why they may charge such a price. Just saying that given it's more likely to cost 650 rather than 350 (let's forget about using the word "flagship", it is irrelevant), I would think it should be wiser to wait a month and see what the competition has to offer.

Sounds like a fantastic 2016 2nd half flagship phone. Too bad it is 2017. Sorry, being in NA I am lost at what is new and exciting about the G6. If the Asian 64 GB phone with the quad DAC was being released in NA I would agree with you.
